Golden Apple Award

    The Fostoria Rotary Club is looking for two outstanding Teachers!

Teacher nomination forms are available at all school principals' officers, Fostoria Rotarian or by writing the Fostoria Rotary Club, P. O. Box 64, Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

    The Rotary Golden Apple Award, signifying teaching excellence, is awarded each year to outstanding teachers in the elementary, middle, and high schools of Fostoria City and St. Wendelin Schools.

    The club hopes the Golden Apple Awards will enhance the public's respect for teachers and help attract new, dedicated people to the teaching profession.

    You are invited to nominate a Fostoria City or St. Wendelin teacher who made a dramatic difference in a student's life. The Rotary Club will accept nominations of outstanding teachers until November 21.

Who is Eligible?

Teach full time in a Fostoria City or St. Wendelin School

Have a minimum of three years in their current school system

Spent a majority of their time in the classroom

No self-nominations will be allowed, and teachers may not receive the Golden Apple more than once.

Finalists Receive

    The Fostoria Rotary Club will honor the two outstanding teachers at an awards dinner in the spring.  Both of the two outstanding teachers will receive:

a Golden Apple Award

$1,000 cash award

Selection of Semi-Finalists & Finalists

    A community selection committee, comprised of interested, civic-minded people, will screen the outstanding teachers nominated and choose six semi-finalists (three each from Fostoria City and St. Wendelin Schools). These semi-finalists then will be recommended to the Rotary Golden Apple Award committee. The Rotary committee will select the two finalists.
