He was born in Fostoria. He married

He is survived by a daughter,
Barbara Nelson; a son Clarence Ulman; a brother, Joseph Ulman;
and three grandchildren.
Mr Ullman retired as a school
teacher in Cartwright School District.

Nella C. VanSant, 83, of Walnut
Street, Fostoria, died at her daughter's home in Fostoria at
12:05 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999.
She was born in Bloomdale July
10, 1915, to Frank and Lois (Decker) Mellott. On June 5, 1937,
in Bloomdale, she married Lester A. VanSant. He died Oct. 10,
1993.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Nancy Gregg of Camarillo, Calif., and Sue Gillig of Fostoria;
a brother, Ray Mellott of Findlay; four sisters, Mrs. Mark (Gladys)
Wasson, Mrs. Wilbur (Lucille) Babcock and Hazel Easley, all
of Bloomdale, and
Ruth Noel of Arcadia; two grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Merrill, Harold
and Herbert Mellott, and a grandchild, Rachael Mae Gregg, also
are deceased.
A homemaker, Mrs. VanSant was a
1932 graduate of Arcadia High School.
She was a member of High Street
United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and its Westminster Circle
of Kings Daughters, Pathfinders Sunday school class, Breans
Group, United Methodist Women and Shepherd Center. She was named
the United Methodist Women of the Year in 1997.
She also was a member of Fostoria
Chapter 94, Order of Eastern Star, Fostoria Historical Society
and the Fostoria Glass Association.
The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will
officiate at the 1:30 p.m. Wednesday service in the High Street
United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near
Arcadia.

Joseph Vegso Jr., 84, of Glenwood
Avenue, Fostoria, died in the Fostoria Community Hospital Sunday
evening, Aug. 8, 1999.
He was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Hollister
to Joseph and Sophia (Teka) Vegso Sr. His wife, Vivian E. (Koontz)
Vegso, whom he married June 7, 1947, in Tiffin, survives in
Fostoria.
Several nieces and nephews also
survive.
Mr. Vegso, a World War II U.S.
Army veteran, retired from National Electrical Carbon Corp.
in 1977, after 30 years of employment. He was a member of the
Fostoria Eagles Club.
Graveside services in Memory Gardens,
near Arcadia, are at 2 p.m. today, with the Rev. Edmond Zickefoose
officiating.
There will be no visitation. The
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Richard C. ''Peck'' Walter Sr.
died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in North Fort Myers, Fla.
He was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Bascom
to Joseph T. and Lula (Feasel) Walter, who are deceased. He
married Connie Walter March 28, 1945, in Napoleon. She survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Richard
C. Walter Jr. of New London; a daughter, Cathy A. Bostwick of
Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Mark A.
Walter of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by a brother,
Joseph ''Lefty'' Walter Jr.
Mr. Walter was the former owner
of Walter (now Wagner) Lincoln Mercury for 26 years, retiring
in June 1988. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of
the American Legion, Hill Top Club, Kiwanis Club, St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria, and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
A funeral Mass will be offered
at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Wendelin Church. Burial will be
in Memory Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday
at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Fourth Degree Knights
of Columbus service will take place at 5.

John Paul Weaks, 36, of 259 E.
Crocker St., Fostoria, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in the Ohio
State University Hospital, Columbus.
He was born May 30, 1962, in Fostoria,
to Paul and Janet (Ray) Weaks. His mother survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: four sisters,
Mrs. Nancy Milum of Kenton, Mrs. Cheryl Talbert of Englewood,
Fla., Mrs. Jodi Veliquette and Ms. Penny Weaks, both of Fostoria;
and a brother, Terry Weaks of Harrisburg, Pa.
His father; and a sister, Mrs.
Karen Bohanon, are deceased.
Mr. Weaks, who had attended Fostoria
High School, was active in various local charities.
Private memorial services will
be at a later date.

St., Fostoria, died at 9:08 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999 at
Mercy Hospital, Tiffin. She was born June 1, 1924 in Dayton
to Henry and Rosezella (Fowler) Anderson. She first married
Harold M. Knight on Jan. 13, 1945 in Dyton; he died March 25,
1968. She then married Cooper West on Jan. 13, 1969 in New Jersey,
and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son,
Harold G. Knight of Reno, NV.; a daughter, Mrs. Chrisman ''Rosetta''
McQueary of New Philidelphia; two brothers, Harry Anderson of
Venice, FL., and Lawrence Anderson of Dayton; Mildred and Sally
Curtner, Geraldine Florance, all of Dayton, and Rosemary Fahrback
of Xenia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: her parents;
first husband; three brothers, Marion, Calvin and Stanley Anderson;
and two sisters, Bernice Bevard and Fern Clifford.
Mrs. West retired in 1961 from
General Motors in Dayton; she also managed the Stonegate Apartments
in Fostoria and was a homemaker. She attended the First Church
of the Nazarene, Fostoria. Memberships included: past president
and life member VFW post 69 Ladies Auxiliary; Fostoria American
Legion 73; AMVETS 69; Eagles 430; Viet Nam Vet 69 Ladies Auxiliarys;
Past recorder for the Seneca County Board of Elections; Sec/Tres.
for the Memorial Day Services at the area cemeteries (Fostoria/Arcadia).
The Rev. Russell Gumm will officiate
the 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8, 1999 service at the First Church
of the Nazarene, Fostoria. Burial will be at Arlington National
Cemetery, Washington, D.C. There will be no visitation.

Theodore A. ''Ted'' Williams, 84,
of South Drive, Fostoria, Ohio, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Feb.
19, 1999, in Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Arcadia,
Ohio, to Arthur and Marjorie (Ebersole) Williams. Both are deceased.
He married LaVera M. Faber on July 27, 1936, at St. Peter Catholic
Church, Alvada. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Robert E. Williams of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Betty
E.) Alge of Norwalk, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Mrs. Opal Williams of Toledo.
A son, Darrell Williams, and a
daughter, Shirley Hanchin, are de- ceased.
Mr. Williams was a 1932 graduate
of Fostoria High School and attended Ohio State University.
He had retired in 1976 after 41 yearsas an ''agent'' for Chessie
System Railroad. A member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, he
was an honorary life member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus
Council 1197, Fostoria, where he served two terms as Grand Knight.
He also was an honorary life member of the Fourth Degree Knights
of Columbus Fr. Raymond Kirsch Assembly 845, Fostoria.
The funeral Mass will be offered
at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church where a rosary will be recited
at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter Parish Cemetery, Alvada,
Ohio.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Monday in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. There will be
a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and
the Fourth Degree Honor Guard will take place from 7-9 p.m.

Mary ''Joan'' Wolph, 77, formerly
of 930 Springville Ave., currently St. Catherine's, Fostoria,
died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in Fostoria Community
Hospital. She was born March 1, 1921, in Fostoria to Edmund
B. and Corinne H. (Bisner) Lonsway, both deceased. On June 28,
1941 she married George R. Wolph in St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
Fostoria. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son,
Thomas Wolph of California; two daughters, Sharyn Huffman of
Pennsylvania and Cecelia Tasker of Fostoria; four brothers,
Wilfred Lonsway of Fostoria, Eugene Lonsway of Ashland, Gerald
Lonsway of Tennessee and Donald Lonsway of North Carolina; three
sisters, Rita Snodgrass of Paulding, Marie Elchert of Upper
Sandusky and Erma McGrain of New Riegel; seven grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three
sisters, Norma Lehmann, Lucille Yeager and Katherine Opp; and
a granddaughter.
Mrs. Wolph was a 1939 graduate
of St. Wendelin High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for
Carbon Employee's Credit Union, Fostoria. Memberships included
St. Wendelin Catholic Church and the Fostoria Women's Club.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30
a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial
will be at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 6-9 tonight
in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. A Christian Wake service

Rogard E. Westenbarger, 79, of
438 E. Tiffin St., Fostoria, died at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March
2, 1999. He was born July 20, 1919 to Leo and Arrah (Reynolds)
Westenbarger.
Surviving include: four sons, Reynold
E. Westenbarger of Fostoria, Daryl L. Westenbarger of Guyton,
GA., Jamie L. Westenbarger of St. Pete, FL., and Mark A. Westenbarger
of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Rebecca) Lawless
of Helena, OH., Cheryl Westenbarger of Toledo, and JoLynn Geren
of Fostoria; a companion, Velma Green of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren;
and seven great grandchildren.
Mr. Westenbarger was a tool and
die maker for Excello of Fostoria for 27 years and retired in
1981. He was a member of the VFW and AMVETS of Fostoria.

in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
She was born in Fostoria, June
11, 1930, to the late Gilbert and Leona (Koepfer) Reinhart.
On Sept. 6, 1952, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria,
she married Paul W. Wagner, who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Charles W. Wagner of Spencerville; three daughters, Mrs. T.J.
(Ann) Sacksteder and Mrs. Reggie (Jane) Scifers, both of Fostoria
and Mrs. Michael (Marty) Morehouse of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters,
Lois Roth of Hoffmann Estates, Ill. and Mrs. Dennis (Sandra)
Kitchen of Troy, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.
A brother, Wayne G. Reinhart, is
deceased.
Mrs. Wagner, a homemaker, retired
in 1986 from the engineering department of General Dynamics
in Lima.
A 1948 graduate of St. Wendelin
High School, where was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church
and its Rosary Altar Society, the Circle of Mercy, Daughters
of Isabella and the K of C Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a former member of the
church choir and the Glass City Chapter of Sweet Adelines and
had served as a former Camp Fire leader.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery.

Jacy L. Weltle, 92, died at 5:40
p.m. Friday, March 12, 1999, at her home at 12531 W. Hughes
St., Fostoria.
She was born in Memphis, Mo., Oct.
30, 1906, to Samuel and Nydia May (Goldsberry) Grabowski. Her
husband, Raymond C. Weltle, whom she married April 30, 1932,
in Chicago, Ill., died July 15, 1978.
Survivors include: a brother, William
F. Grabowski of Memphis, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou
Young of Joplin, Mo. and Mrs. Merlin (Stella Fern) Sims of Phoenix,
Ariz.
Also preceding her in death were:
four brothers, Raymond L., Ernest, Charles and Julion Grabowski;
and five sisters, Mrs. Jessie Sallenbach, Mrs. Fay Martin, Helen
McCoy, Vada Mallet and Ada Grabowski.
Mrs. Weltle was the co-owner, with
her husband, of Weltle Motors-American Motors Dealership (now
Paul Cole Motors), Fostoria, and also head of its parts department.
She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Branson
J. Hawkes officiating. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday
in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus.

U.S. 23 North, Fostoria, Ohio, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday,
April 1, 1999, at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center
in Findlay, Ohio.
She was born March 13, 1918, to
Otto and Jennie (Derickson) Barnes. On Nov. 22, 1939, she married
William J. Wolfarth in Fostoria, Ohio.
Survivors include: Vee Needles
of Fostoria and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her
parents, husband, brother, Howard Barnes, and sister, Oral Clevenger.
Mrs. Wolfarth, a 1936 graduate
of Fostoria High School, retired in 1963 after 26 years in the
Copy Prep. Dept. of Gray Printing Co., Fostoria. She was member
the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in Fostoria.

p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral
Home in Fostoria with Rev. Donald Goodwin and Rev. Kip Gilts

Whiteman, 86, of 24 Westwood Court, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday,
April 6, 1999, in St. Catherine's of Tiffin.
She was born in Tiffin, Nov. 26,
1912, to William H. and Minnie Mae (McCormick) Shutt. Her first
husband, Wilmer F. Walters, whom she married April 22, 1939,
died Sept. 9, 1941. She later married Charles Lee Aug. 2, 1941.
He died in February 1968. On May 15, 1976, she married Charles
R. Whiteman, who died in April 1984.
Survivors include: a stepson, Elwood
Lee of Fremont; a stepdaughter, LaVonne Bivens of Tiffin; eight
grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Oliver, Owen and
Forrest Shutt; and four sisters, Flossie Connor, Marjorie Zoll,
Alverta Hoover and Emma Smith, are deceased.
Mrs. Whiteman, a graduate of Bloomville
High School, had been employed at AlliedSignal in Fostoria for
17 years as a machine operator.
She was a member of the Fostoria
Church of the Nazarene.

Florence E. Wagner, 83, of West
Center Street, Fostoria, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, April 30,
1999, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1916, at
Benton Ridge to Fredrick and Martha (Neiffer) Roberts. She married
Claude H. Wagner in September 1932 in Greenup, Ky. He died June
23, 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara
Ann Biddle of Fostoria; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three
brothers, Kenneth, Carlton and Fredrick Roberts; and a sister,
Blanche Burks.
Mrs. Wagner retired in 1984 from
Autolite Corp. (now Allied Signal Corporation), after 40 years'
employment.
She was active in church activities,
a member of the Naomi Circle; worked in the Fostoria Sharing
Kitchen, and donated her time as a Good Shepherd Home volunteer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday
at the High Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeffrey
L. Waite officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near

p.m. Sunday, May 23, 1999, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home,
Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born in Beaverdam Jan.
28, 1909, to Samuel and Cora (Coats) Long. On Feb. 23, 1929,
in Fort Wayne, Ind., she married Herman G. Warren. He died Dec.
25, 1967.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Mrs. Danny (Nancy) Pelton of Fostoria and Mrs. Ray (Jean) Griffith
of Dover; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
five brothers, James, William, George and Donald Long and Howard
Carter; a sister, Velma Lee; and two grandchildren.
A homemaker, Mrs. Warren attended
the United Brethren Church in Fostoria.

Ave., Fostoria, formerly of Buckley Street, died at 7:25 a.m.
Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home,
Fostoria. She was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Boonsville, Ky., to
Granville and Fairendia (Spencer) Johnson. On April 6, 1940,
she married Elmore E. Whitten. He died Feb. 5, 1974.
Survivors include: a daughter,
Mrs. Theodore (Marlene) Elioff of Pickerington; a brother, George
Johnson of Indiana; two sisters, Loraine Thomas and Ruth Thomas,
both of Cincinnati; and a grandchild, Mrs. Joe (Angela) Elioff-Grasso
of New Jersey.
Preceding her in death were: parents;
husband; a brother, Everett Johnson; and a sister, Ellen Taylor.
Mrs. Whitten retired from the Essex
Wire Co. of Carey. A member of the Fostoria Baptist Church,
Fostoria; VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and Geary Family YMCA, she also
loved swimming and gardening.

the 11 a.m. Monday service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Burial will be at Greenville Cemetery, Columbus.

She was born in Fostoria, March
12, 1917. Her husband, Ervin Woodruff, whom she married in September
1934, died in July 1952. She later married James Yocum, and
he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, Ervin
H. Woodruff Jr. of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Nolan (Judy) Carman
of Brea, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Yocum was a homemaker.

Eugene E. Wilch, 83, of South Main
Street, Fostoria, was killed at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7,
1999, at the CSX railroad crossing in Fostoria.
He was born April 22, 1916, in
Jenera to Edward and Adeline (Heldman) Wilch. He was raised
by his father and stepmother, Lucinda Featheringill.
He was first married to Ruth Lanagan;
they were divorced. He married Dorothy L. Crawford Sept. 22,
1948, in Bowling Green. She died July 17, 1996.
Surviving are: a son, Edward Wilch
of Fostoria; three daughters, Patricia S. Westfall and Carol

Lutheran Church; worked at Duffield Motors in Fostoria; and
was a Greyhound bus driver.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday,
at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev.
Richard E. Hofmann officiating. Burial will be in Knoll Crest
Cemetery near Arcadia.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday

Helen M. Wolf, 79, of W. TR 34,
Fostoria, died in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo,
at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999.
She was born in Seneca County,
May 19, 1920, to John and Flo (Hastings) Shaferly. Her husband,
Kenneth Wolf, whom she married Aug. 17, 1941, in Bascom, survives
in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two sons,
Charles Wolf of Tiffin and Gary Wolf of Milan; two daughters,
Mrs. Clifford (Jean) Johnson of Millersville and Eileen Wolf
of Findlay; a brother, Harlan Shaferly of Alvada; and five grandchildren.
A brother, Wayne Shaferly, is deceased.
Mrs. Wolf, a farm wife, was a 1938
graduate of New Riegel High School.

Gary Staats officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery,
near Kansas, Ohio.

Larry O. White Sr., 59, of Sandusky
Street, Fostoria, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999,
at the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. He was born
Nov. 16, 1940, to Columbus and Dorothy M. (Morris) White Jr.
They are deceased.
Surviving are a companion, Kathy
Bates of Fostoria; four sons, Christopher Thompson, Myron Bates,
Tim White and Larry White Jr., all of Fostoria; two brothers,
Dennis White of Washington and Stanley White of Minneapolis,
Minn.; two sisters, Cynthia White of Lima and Delores Cousins
of Fostoria; and six grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother,
Tim White, and a sister, Gerri White.
Mr. White was a 1958 graduate of
Lima Central High School and retired from the B&O Railroad.
The Rev. Donald Goodwin will officiate
the 11 a.m., Monday service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral
Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

BLOOMDALE -- Mark E. Wasson, 89,
of 338 Beall Drive, Bloomdale, died at 2:06 a.m. Friday, Nov.
26, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
He was born July 5, 1910 in Cass
Township to William A. and Alta (Mincks) Wasson. He married
Gladys B. Mellott on Oct. 5, 1935 in Washington Township, and
she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard
"Dick," Paul D., both of Bloomdale; two daughters, Mrs. Stan
(Janet) Zak, Canton; Mrs. Randy (Jo Ann) Carns, Temperance,
Mich.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Elda Treier, Findlay.
Mr. Wasson was a farmer.
He was a 1928 graduate of Bloomdale
High School.
He was a member of Trinity United
Methodist Church, Bloomdale, the Bloomdale Commercial Club and
the Sugar Beet Grower's Association, Findlay District.
He was the co-founder of the Hancock
Hybrids Association. He won the Soil Conservation Award from
the State of Ohio in 1975. Funeral services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Monday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Revs.
Neil Foster and Calvin Wise officiating. Burial will be in Weaver
Cemetery, Bloomdale.
Visitation will be held from 2-4

Helen M. Woodruff-Yocum, 82, of
240 Hissong St., Fostoria, died in the Medical College of Ohio
Hospital, Toledo, at 12:22 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 1999.
She was born in Fostoria, March
12, 1917. Her husband, Ervin Woodruff, whom she married in September
1934, died in July 1952. She later married James Yocum, and
he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a son, Ervin
H. Woodruff Jr. of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Nolan (Judy) Carman
of Brea, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Yocum was a homemaker.
The Rev. David P. Chapman of the
Fostoria Baptist Church, will be the officiant at the 10:30
a.m. Friday graveside service in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
There will be no visitation. The

Salesman
James B. "Jim" Youngston, 55, of
515 Glenview Drive, Fostoria, died in St. Catherine's Care Center,
Fostoria, at 4:17 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 1999.
He was born in Fostoria March 27,
1944, to James B. and Donna M. (Lewis) Youngston, who survive
in Fostoria. His wife, Bronwyn (Morgan) Youngston, whom he married
June 27, 1964, in the Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, survives
in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two sons,
Jamie Youngston of Durand, Mich., and Christian Youngston of
Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. John (Shannon) Schuld of Fostoria;
two brothers, David Youngston of Columbia Station and William
Youngston of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Ron (Teri) Fry of
Michigan City, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Youngston, a 1962 graduate
of Fostoria High School, had been employed as a salesman for
34 years.
He was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Elks Lodge 935, Fostoria Athletic Boosters
and the Hilltop Club, all of Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian burial will
be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where
the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the
parish cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Terry Wolfarth, 40, of Tuscon,
AZ., formerly of Fostoria, died Sunday morning, December 5,
1999, in Tuscon, after a long illness with Diabetes. He was
born Oct. 4, 1959 in Fostoria to Harvey and Patricia (Howard)
Wolfarth, his mother survives in Tuscon.
Other survivors include: a brother,
Kim Wolfarth of Tuscon, AZ.
Preceded in death were: his father;
and a brother, Michael Wolfarth.
Mr. Wolfarth was a 1978 graduate
of Catalina High School, attended The University of Arizona,
and Pima Community College. He was a graduate of Elva May Florist
School of Fullerton, CA. He was a member of Saints Peter and
Paul Catholic Church, Tuscon.
Private family visitation will
take place Monday at Hoening Funeral Home. Burial will follow
in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.

Rose E. Wilhelm, 95, formerly of
Stinchcomb Drive, Fostoria, died at 3:17 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10,
1999, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born June 7, 1904, to Jacob
and Anna (Ringler) Mehr. She married Gilbert C. Wilhelm Nov.
17, 1923, in Cleveland.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Appell and Mrs. Ivan (Marjorie) Maurer,
both of Fostoria; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
four great-great grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren;
and a step-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, who died Aug. 5, 1967, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Wilhelm was a homemaker; a
member of Hope Lutheran Church; Kings Daughters-Silver Star
Circle.

Laurel Ann Van Sickle, 57, formerly
of Fostoria, died at 4:49 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at her
residence at 5161 Eppino Lane, Zephyrhills, Fla.
She was born Dec. 26, 1941, in
Napoleon, to Bruce Theobald Sr. who survives in Fostoria and
the late Mary Arline (Boyher) Theobald. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Dr. Richard Van Sickle.
Survivors also include: two sons,
Andrew Van Sickle of Zephyrhills and Scott Van Sickle of Temple
Terrace, Fla.; and a brother, Bruce Theobald Jr. of Port Clinton.
Mrs. Van Sickle was employed as
a social worker at the VA hospital in Tampa, Fl.

p.m. Friday in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with the Rev. R.

Gladys Mae Walter, 80, of 681 N.
Center St., Bascom, died at 12:11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 1999,

She was born in Cincinnati Jan.
26, 1919, to Walter and Bertha (Klingelhoffer) Lusk. Her husband
of 60 years, C. Robert Walter, whom she married July 25, 1939,
in Fremont, survives.
Other survivors include: two sons,
Robert C. Walter of Bronson, Mich., and Denny L. Walter of Apache
Junction, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. George (Judy) Hossler of Fostoria;
three sisters, Dorothy Bordner of Tiffin, Mrs. John (Alice)
Mohrman of Woodville and Mrs. Delmar (Nora Lee) Kruse of South
Carolina; a brother, Donald Lusk of Genoa; 12 grandchildren
and 17 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Harold and Chester
Lusk; and a sister, Bertha; also are deceased.
Mrs. Walter was employed for 14
years as an assembly line worker at Autolite in Fostoria until
1962. She later retired as both beautician and owner of the
Beauty Spot in Bascom.
She was a member of Union United
Church of Christ, Bascom.

the officiant at the 10 a.m. Monday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom.

City of Fostoria retiree
Elmer N. Welly, 73, of 433 Columbus
Ave., Fostoria, died at 9:33 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, in
Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Seneca
County, to Joseph and Mathilda (Kirian) Welly. On July 16, 1965,
in Fostoria, he married Doris Geren. She died Oct. 25, 1988.
Surviving are: three sisters, Florence
Foltz and Mary Doogs, both of Fostoria, and Emma Welch of Fredericktown;
and a brother, Alfred L. Welly of Fostoria.
Also preceding him in death were
a son, Jamie Welly; two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Welly;
and three sisters, Rose and Helen Reiter and Rita Hemminger.
Mr. Welly, a World War II U.S.
Army veteran, retired in 1989 from the City of Fostoria, after
23 years with the Water and Sewer Department. He previously
worked at Riegel Foods in New Riegel.
He was a member of American Legion
Post 73, Eagles Aerie 430 and the Fostoria United Sportsman
Club, all of Fostoria.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be
in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where military graveside services
will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria..

Eliza R. Payne-Williams, 32-day-old
daughter of Penny R. Payne and Leonard J. Williams of 310 Elwood
Ave., Fostoria, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, in
the Toledo Hospital, where she was born Nov. 22, 1999.
Survivors include her parents;
paternal grandfather, Dewitte Woodson of Toledo; maternal grandmother,
Toy Barbara Grant of Fostoria; paternal grandmother, Teresa
Jordan of Toledo; and four siblings, Marlan, Marcel and Marqui
Payne and Brittani Landen, all of Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by her
maternal grandfather, Clarence R. Payne.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Derick
Morant officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.
