Robert P. Miller, 82, of 238 Watson
Ave., Fostoria, died at 8:57 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, in
Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Fremont,
to the late Carl E. and Hedwig (Chudzinski) Miller. He married
Joan M. McKivett Aug. 1, 1945, in England, and she survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Terry
M. and Robert J. Miller of Columbus and Pickerington, respectively;
six grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita and Helen Miller, both
of Fremont.
Preceding him in death were: five
brothers, Urban, Norbert, Bernard, Carl and Richard Miller;
and six sisters, Mary Koebel, Margaret Eck, Josephine Althausen,
Betty Snyder, Anna Rose Grieve and Norma Scott.
Mr. Miller was a 1934 graduate
of Fremont St. Joseph High School and an Army Air Force veteran
of World War II. He retired in 1981 after 40 years at Union
Carbide, Fostoria (now National Electrical Carbon). He had memberships
at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Lions Club and Elks Lodge 935,
all in Fostoria. He did volunteer work for the American Red
Cross Bloodmobile, the hospital's Meals on Wheels program and
the Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m.
Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary
will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery
with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans
of Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Sunday in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian
wake service will take place at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin

Viola Niswender Morrison, 78, formerly
of 142 E. Jones St., Fostoria, died at 10:50 a.m. Saturday,
Jan. 16, 1999, in St. Catherine's Care Center, 25 Christopher
Drive, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in
Fostoria, to William and Mabel (Zimmerman) Niswender. On Oct.
7, 1953, in Carey, she married Clarence ''Boy'' Morrison, who
died in 1970.
A cousin, Rebecca A. Stoepfel,
survives.
Mrs. Morrison, a World War II U.S.
Navy veteran, was employed as a clerk for the City of Fostoria
Water Office for 25 years, retiring in 1972.
Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral
Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev.
Charles Jarvis officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria, where military graveside rites will be conducted by
the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation at the funeral home
will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on
Tuesday.

Margaret L. Minder
Retired housekeeper
Margaret L. Minder, 91, a resident
of the Good Shepherd Home, formerly of South Poplar Street,
both of Fostoria, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999,
in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Jan. 15, 1908, on
a family farm near Alvada, to John and Anna M. (Herbert) Minder.
She never married.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Preceding her in death were: a
brother, Herbert Minder; and five sisters, Ellen Phillips, Ida
Myers, Frances and Elsa Minder and Laura Coldren.
A member of St. John's United Church
of Christ, Fostoria, and its Women's Guild, she had been employed
as a housekeeper in the Fostoria area for more than 40 years,
retiring in 1982.
Services in St. John's United Church
of Christ, SR 587, Fostoria, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with
the Rev. James E. Michaels officiating. Burial will be in St.
John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation at the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Former Atlas Crankshaft employee
James Palmer Madden, 71, of 600
W. State St., Fremont, died in Memorial Hospital, Fremont, at
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999.
He was born in Fostoria, Nov. 24,
1927, the son of Joseph Anthony and Rose (Ludwig) Madden. His
former wife, Janice (Somers) Haynes, survives.
Survivors also include a daughter,
Mrs. Dennis J. (Kathy) Smith of Fostoria; a granddaughter; a
brother, Byron J. Madden of Clyde; and three sisters, Teresa
Rearick of Fremont, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ellen) Shively of Findlay
and Lorraine Rozkrut of Toledo.
Two brothers, Joseph A. Jr. and
Donald L. Madden and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Cardwell,
are deceased.
Mr. Madden, a 1946 Fostoria High
School graduate, worked in the construction industry and at
Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, where he had been a tool and die
apprentice.
A World War II U.S. Army Air Corp
veteran, he served as an air control tower operator.
He was a member of Fremont VFW
Post 2947.

Retired security guard/farmer
Jay W. Miller, 77, a resident of
the Autumn Court Nursing Home, Ottawa, formerly of Vine Street,
Fostoria, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 1999, in St.
Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 28, 1921, in Vanlue,
to Forrest and Essie (Thatcher) Miller. On June 25, 1948, in
Bowling Green, he married Loma I. Ball, who survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two daughters,
Natley Peace and Dolorous ''Doddi'' Cramer, both of Fostoria;
nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Paul Robin Miller; two brothers,
John and William Miller and two sisters, Mary Lackey and Carolyn
Amstutz, are deceased.
Mr. Miller, a U.S. Army veteran
during World War II, retired in 1984 as a security guard for
Pinkerton. Prior to that he was a farmer.
He was a member of Faith Tabernacle
Pentacostal Church of God, Fostoria and the Disabled American
Veterans.
He and his wife distributed bread
and sweet rolls to the Fostoria Community for more than 12 years.
Services in the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the
Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Fountain
Cemetery, Fostoria.

Earlean (West) Mosby, 78, of 855
Lynn St., Fostoria, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 1999,
in The Cleveland Clinic.
She was born June 9, 1920, in Olive
Branch, Miss., to Cornelia and Narcia (Wright) West. Her husband,
Elbert Mosby, is deceased.
Survivors include: a daughter,
Allene Smith of Fostoria; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren
and seven great-great-grandchldren.
Also preceding her in death were
four brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Mosby had been employed in
housekeeping for 13 years at the Fostoria Community Hospital,
retiring in 1985.
The Rev. Ronald Brown will be the
officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Monday service in the Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

Fostoria resident's mother
Isabel McKinney, 94, died at 11:55
p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, in the Plus Health Care Center,
Allen County.
She was born May 7, 1904, in Allen
County, to Alta Scott and Mae (Osmon) Faze. On June 7, 1928,
she married John D. McKinney Sr. He died Sept. 28, 1992.
Surviving are: five sons, John
D. "Jack" McKinney Jr. of Lima, William D. McKinney of Elida,
Robert D. McKinney of Fostoria, Rodney D. McKinney, also of
Lima and Timothy L. McKinney of Columbus Grove; four daughters,
Dorothy Janet Hesseling of Elida, Mrs. Kenneth (Jane) Parish
of Findlay, Diana Jo Miller of Wapakoneta and Mrs. Philip (Donna
Jean) Jones of Venedocia; 32 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: a
son, Thomas L. McKinney; two brothers, Floyd and William Paul
Faze; and three sisters, Ruth Sumney, Agnes Nicol and Dorothy
Ferry.
Mrs. McKinney, a homemaker, was
a member of the First Baptist Church and VFW Auxiliary 1275.
She was a former member of the
Grandmother's Club, a founding member of the Navy Mother's Club
and a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Fey officiating, will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chiles and
Sons-Laman Wayne Street Chapel, Lima. Burial will be in Woodlawn
Cemetery.

Herbert E. "Ace" Moyer, 72, of
Sandusky Street, Fostoria, died at 11:24 p.m. Monday, April
12, 1999, in Medical College Hospital, Toledo.
He was born July 9, 1926, in Springfield,
W.Va., to Phylix and Ollie (Iser) Moyer. He first married Velma
Wright and they were divorced. He later married Annie Ruth Farrar,
July 14, 1957, in Fostoria, and she survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: three
sons, Michael, John and Richard Moyer, all of Fostoria; four
daughters, Charlotte Snow-Frey of Fostoria, Pamela Sadler of
Alvada, Connie Ratliff of LaGrange, Ind. and Vickie Moyer, also
of Fostoria; four brothers, Gerald Moyer of Fostoria, Lester
Moyer of Rockford, Mich., John Springberg of Cadillac, Mich.
and Billy Davis of Hamilton; seven sisters, Patricia Allison
and Merna Hensley, both of Lima, Virginia McCarley of Tulsa,
Okla., Alta Pitt of Lake, Mich., Barb Baier of Wayne, W.Va.,
Betty Gerber of Sarasota, Fla. and Mary VanRyn of Kendalville,
Ind.; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A son, Herbert E. Moyer; a daughter,
Ollie Mae Moyer; three brothers, Glenn, Phylix and Irvin Moyer;
and a sister, Kathleen Dible, are deceased.
Mr. Moyer, a member of the Fostoria
Eagles, retired in 1988 as owner/operator of Ace Trucking and
Ace Painting and Glass Contractors.

Inez (Holmes) Murphy
Nurse's aide
Inez (Holmes) Murphy, 83, died
at 1:50 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at the St. Catherine's
Care Center in Fostoria.
Mrs. Murphy was born Aug. 4, 1915
to Wes and Mary Holmes in Vaidan, Miss. In 1941, she married
Willie C. Murphy. He is deceased.
Surviving are a son, Kenny Holmes,
Findlay; daughters, Stephanie Bulger and Joslyn "Susie" Lawson,
both of Fostoria; brothers Joseph, Cade and Herbert Holmes of
Detroit, Jamie Holmes of Toledo and Wesley Holmes of Memphis,
Tenn.; sisters Mrs. Jay (Mary) Moore of Detroit, Kate Ruth Purnell
of Chicago and Sadie White of Vaidan, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Two sisters and two brothers are
deceased.
Mrs. Murphy was a nurse's aide
at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria. She had previously
lived at 25 Christopher Drive and 1032 Cherry St., Fostoria.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist
Church.
Services will be at the Bethel
Baptist Church in Fostoria at 1 p.m. Friday.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday
at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria, and one hour prior
to the service at the church. Interment will be in Memory Gardens
near Arcadia.

Kathryn F. McIntire
Retired Fostoria teacher
Kathryn F. McIntire, 92, Fostoria,
died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, at the Good Shepherd
Home, Fostoria. She was born to Carryl L. and Ada V. (Peckham)
Lenhart, Feb. 4, 1907, in Fort Wayne, Ind. In 1947 she married
Robert H. McIntire. They were divorced.
She is survived by several cousins.
After graduating from Monroeville,
Indiana, High School in 1923, she received a B.A. degree from
Wittenberg College in Springfield in 1928 and completed some
post graduate work at Bowling Green State University.
Mrs. McIntire was a school teacher
in Indiana, Springfield, Ohio, and the Fostoria City School
system. She retired June 1, 1971, after 38 years as a teacher.
She was a member of the Order of
Eastern Star, AARP, and a former member of the Fostoria Education
Association.
The Rev. Todd Wetzel will officiate
at the funeral at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Monroeville Memorial
Cemetery, Monroeville, Ind.

Former Chrysler office coordinator
Donald R. Munger, 83, of 917 S.
Main St., Fostoria, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, April 26, 1999,
in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was born in Fostoria Aug. 26,
1915, to Park and Pearl (Brandberry) Munger. On July 30, 1946,
in Altoona, Pa., he married Jane Reilly. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Stephen C. Munger of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Nancy)
Malone of Toledo; two grandsons, Ryan and Scott Malone; and
a sister, Berniece Oyler of Fostoria.
Preceding him in death were three
brothers, Robert, Howard and John Munger.
Mr. Munger, a World War II U.S.
Army veteran, had been employed as an office coordinator for
17 years at the former Chrysler Foundry.
He was a member of Wesley United
Methodist Church and the American Legion, both of Fostoria.

Walter W. Muhlbauer, 75, of 214
S. Countyline St., Fostoria, died in the Medical College of
Ohio Hospital, Toledo, at 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1999.
He was born in Wurtzburg, Germany,
March 28, 1924, to Jacob and Anna (Glaser) Muhlbauer. His wife,
Annaliese (Martens) Muhlbauer, whom he married Aug. 10, 1945,
in Germany, is deceased.
A daughter, Ulla Davis, survives
in Dublin, Va.
Mr. Muhlbauer, a master scuba diver,
retired from the Valve Line at Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, after
27 years of employment.
A German Army veteran of World
War II, he was a life member of the NRA.
Memorials services will be at a

Edith M. McClellan, 76, of 25 Christopher
Drive, Fostoria, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday May 8, 1999, in
Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born in Salt Lake City,
Utah, May 2, 1923, to Eli Shannon and Margaret H. (Smith) King.
She married Levi "Dobbie" McClellan, Aug. 30, 1942, in Napoleon.
He died July 13, 1984.
Survivors include: five sons, Richard
L., Ronald A. and John J. McClellan, all of Fostoria, Bryan
L. McClellan of Nashville, Tenn. and Charles E. McClellan of
Montpelier; two daughters, Donna L. McClellan of Fostoria and
Mrs. Dan (Kathy) Falter of Republic; a brother, George King
II of Florida; two sisters, Ruth Sayre and Ethel Knettles, both
of Fostoria; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Diana R. Gee, a brother,
George King I and a sister, Betty Haynes, are deceased.
Mrs. McClellan, a homemaker and
formerly of 434 Union Court, Fostoria, was a member of the First
Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria.
The Rev. Russell F. Gumm will preside
at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in the First Church of the
Nazarene. The body will lie in state one hour before the funeral
at the church. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

James F. "Jim" Metzger, 51, died
at 2:45 a.m. Monday May 10, 1999, at his home at 3453 TR 66,
New Riegel.
He was born in Tiffin, Nov. 8,
1947, to Cyril and Irene (Morse) Metzger. They survive in rural
New Riegel. In October 1970, he married Diane Wertz, and they
later divorced. She survives.
Other survivors include: three
daughters, Mrs. Brian (Stephanie) Patterson of Findlay, Kristie
Metzger of Akron and Mrs. Chad (Jamie) Greathouse of Columbus;
two brothers, John and Larry Metzger, both of Carey; two sisters,
Mrs. John (Sandy) Zoeller and Mrs. Steve (Sharon) Kimmet, both
of New Riegel; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Metzger, a 1965 graduate of
New Riegel High School, retired as a machine setter from the
Allied Signal Autolite, Fostoria, where he had been employed
for 33 years.
A U.S. Army veteran 1966-68 during
the Vietnam Era, he had served in Korea.
He was a member of St. Nicholas
Catholic Church, Frenchtown; New Riegel Moose, Fostoria AMVETS,
Carey Eagles, New Riegel American Legion Post 354 and Fostoria
United Sportsmen. He also collected and restored antique cars.
A funeral Mass in St. Nicholas
Catholic Church, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev.
Conrad Sutter as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery,
where military graveside services will be conducted by New Riegel
American Legion Post 354.
Visitation at the Hoffmann-Gottfried
Funeral Home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where a wake
service will be at 8 p.m.

William J. Miller, 91, of 7495
N. TR 63, Fostoria, died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 1999,
in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
He was born in Mount Savage, Md.,
June 24, 1907, to Charles B. and Blanche (Lehman) Miller.
He married Verlee Rossman June
14, 1934. She died Oct. 20, 1935. He married Mae V. Conway July
5, 1937. She died Jan. 18, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
Buss (Mary Kathryn) Grovesof Tiffin and Mrs. Gerry (Bonnie)
Omlor of Fostoria; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
seven step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son,
Joseph, at birth; two sisters, Gerry Seever and Alice Comer;
two brothers, Thomas and Bernard Miller.
He retired in 1970 from Union Carbide,
Fostoria, after 44 years. He was a member of the St. Wendelin
Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Fostoria;
and AARP.
The funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m.
Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with burial being in
St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be at 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Sunday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. There will
be a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home, and a rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the
church.

Arthur McClung, 88, of 448 Colonial
Drive, Fostoria, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 1999, in
St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va.,
Nov. 22, 1910, to Emery Whitfield and Agnes Virginia (Davis)
McClung. On July 28, 1935, in Fostoria, he married Virginia
Fawn McClead. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include three sons,
David McClung of Dayton, James McClung of Chicago, Ill., and
Tom McClung of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. McClung, a former board member
at Fostoria Community Hospital, retired from Union Carbide in
Fostoria as a maintenance engineer, after 42 years.
He was a member of the Church of
the Nazarene, Fostoria.
Public graveside services will
be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with
the Rev. Russell F. Gumm and the Rev. Larry Baucom as co-officiants.
Visitation will be private. The

Aileen Y. McPherson, 84, of 456
Sunset Drive, Fostoria, died at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, July 28,
1999, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
She was born in Fostoria, Oct.
30, 1914, to Roy and Laila (Drenner) Hoffman. Her husband, Charles
R. McPherson, whom she married May 8, 1936, in Fostoria, died
Dec. 26, 1979.
Surviving are a son, Gary C. McPherson
of Powell; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marla) Reep of Cicero, N.Y.;
a sister, Mrs. Frank (Royetta) Kirian of Fostoria; four grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
A sister, Lucille Swartz, also
is deceased.
Mrs. McPherson, a homemaker, was

Oletha Mae Martin, 76, of Streeter
Road, Port Clinton, died at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999,
in Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton.
She was born April 20, 1923, in
Fostoria, to Thomas and Cleva (Gibson) Corner. On Aug. 19, 1942,
in Tiffin, she married Fredrick G. Martin. He survives in Port
Clinton.
Other survivors include: a son,
Thomas Martin of Fostoria; four daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Janet)
Nolan of Wayne, Mrs. Thomas (Judy) Pessell of Arcadia, Mrs.
Rick (Kathy) Cooper of Findlay and Mrs. James (Jenny) Reuhl
of Toledo; a brother, Dale Corner of Findlay; three sisters,
Betty Wonders of Alvada, Evelyn Twark of Muskegon, Mich. and
Margie Desormeau of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
A grandchild is deceased.
Mrs. Martin, a 1942 graduate of
Arcadia High School, retired in 1985 from the Fostoria Industries.
She also was a former beautician in the Fostoria area.
Graveside services in Memory Gardens,
near Arcadia, will be at 11 a.m. Friday with Barbara Kreishner
officiating.
There will be no visitation. The
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,is in charge of arrangements.

Dale D. McCullough
Fostoria resident
Dale D. McCullough, 66, of 1160
N. TR 21, Fostoria, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999,
at the Medical College of Ohio.
Mr. McCullough was born on April
2, 1933, to Melvin A. and Mary June (Keith) McCullough. He married
Beverly Williams and they were divorced. He later married Donna
(Powell) Opperman in Richmond, Ky., and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are two sons, Don
McCullough of Bascom, Shawn McCullough of Wayne; two stepsons,
Jess Opperman of Fairborn, and Jamie Opperman of Gettysburg,
Penn.; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Flechtner of Fostoria;
two stepdaughters, Jeanne Sallisbury and Josie Johnson, both
of Fostoria; five sisters, Frances Gottfried and Cleo Bish of
Fostoria, Lucy McDonald and Molly Robinson of Findlay, Edna
Pessell of Arcadia; and 16 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his
parents; two brothers, Paul and Dean McCullough; three sisters,
Dolores Hawk, Jean Snyder and Dolly Mitchum.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air
Force and served during the Korean Conflict; a handler for nine
years at the Abbott Co. at North Baltimore, retiring in 1992;
and a member of the Fostoria United Sportsmen.
Funeral services will be at 10:30
a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria with the
Rev. Paul Myers officiating. Military graveside rites will be
conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria at Memory Gardens
near Arcadia.
Visiting hours will be 2-5 p.m.
Sunday and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Marvin F. Moes
Atlas employee
Marvin F. Moes, 47, of 21583 CR
7, Alvada, died at 8:09 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, in Fostoria
Community Hospital.
He was born in Fostoria, Oct. 19,
1951, to Anthony J. and Berneda L. (Coleman) Moes. His mother
survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: three
sisters, Annette Shaull and Mrs. John (Donna) Shaull, both of
Fostoria, and Jolynn Moes of Lakewood; and seven nieces and
nephews.
His father and two brothers, Edvin
and John Moes, are deceased.
Mr. Moes, a 1970 graduate of Lakota
High School, had been employed at the Atlas in Fostoria, since
1970.
A member of UAW Local 336, he attended
St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in
Kansas Cemetery.
Visitation at the Hoening Funeral
Home, Fostoria, will be 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where a Christian
wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Martha Sue Mains
, 50, of 22143 Meadowsouth Court, Strongsville, died at
6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Nov. 9, 1948 in Findlay
to Lawrence H. "Punk" and Martha E. (Burnap) Mains, and her
father survives in Findlay.
Also surviving are five brothers,
David K. Mains, Crawford, Colo.; Robert G. and L. Paul Mains,
both of Findlay; John B. Mains, Fayetteville, N.C.; Thomas L.
Mains, Medford, N.J.; and six sisters, Mrs. Dwight (Janette)
Treece and Judy Huff, both of Findlay; Shirley Miller, Van Buren;
Helen Thomas, Farmington Hills, Mich.; Mrs. Otha (Mary) Sudlow,
McComb; and Mrs. Dale (Beverly) George, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Charles Duane Mains.
Alford Herman McLaughlin

Alford Herman McLaughlin, 92, formerly
of Brookside Drive, Fostoria, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
2, 1999, at The Waters Nursing Home in Chesterton, Ind.
He was born Jan. 31, 1907, in Johnston,
Pa., to Marlin and Argie (Hutton) McLaughlin. He married Kathryn
R. Sterling June 3, 1933, in Fostoria.
Surviving are: his wife of Chesterton,
Ind.; a son, John McLaughlin of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Richard
(Ann) Schaeffer of Long Beach, Ind.; five grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three
brothers, William, Marlin, Paul; and a grandchild.
He was a 1925 graduate of Fostoria
High School and a 1929 graduate of North Central College, where
he received his bachelor's degree; retired in 1972 from Union
Carbide Corp. in Fostoria, where he was an engineer; a member
of High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria.
Graveside services will be at 1
p.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Cemetery, near Arcadia with the
Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Lois Annabelle Milligan
Retired school secretary
Lois Annabelle Milligan, 88, of
301 Boston Ave., Fostoria, died at 2:02 p.m. Thursday, Nov.
4, 1999, at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born Nov. 9,
1910, to Grover and Ora (Kidd) Foltz. On Aug. 21, 1933, she
married John Ralph Milligan. He died Oct. 24, 1979.
Survivors include: a son, Frank
R. Milligan of Fostoria; a daughter, Sharon G. Milligan of Fostoria;
and two sisters-in-law, Florence Foltz and Phyllis Melligan.
Preceding him in death were: three
brothers, Dwight, Forrest and Lowell Foltz; and a sister, Guyneth
Grauer.
Mrs. Milligan was a Class of 1928
graduate of Fostoria High School, worked as secretary for Fostoria
City Schools for more than 20 years, retiring in July of 1979.
She worked at Lowell Elementary, and the former Whittier and
Bryant elementary schools. She was a member of the High Street
United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and its Pathfinders Class
and Naomi Circle.
The Rev. Jeffrey Waite, of High
Street Methodist Church, will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Saturday
service at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will
be at Fountain Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from one hour
prior to the service at the funeral home.

David McDonald
David McDonald, 60, Toledo, died
Nov. 9, 1999 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Hw was born Dec. 18, 1938 in Fostoria,
to Gayle and Ruth (Smith) McDonald. His mother, now Ruth Pevler,
survives in Fostoria. He married Lyn P. Taylor and she servives.
Also surviving are a son, Geoffrey
McDonald. Louisville, Ky.; Three daughters, Kim McDonald and
Dana Plum, San Diego, Calif., annd Kerri Bigelow, Toledo, a
brother, Doug McDonald, Tiffin; a sister, Judy Huffman, Canton;
and two grandchildren.
Mr. McDonald was a jeweler.
A memorial service will be 1 pm
Dec. 4, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Toledo, with Rev.
Will Stemen officating. The body will be cremated.

Richard Carmichael Norris
Retired Excello employee
Richard Carmichael Norris, 54,
of 1521 N. Countyline St. No. 84, died in the Medical College
of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, at 8:06 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 1999.
He was born Sept. 3, 1944, in Fostoria,
to Robert P. and Eula B. (Sheets) Norris. His mother survives
in Fostoria. His wife, Rose M. (Norman) Sloan-Norris, whom he
married May 11, 1991, in Clyde, also survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a step-son,
Matthew R. Sloan of Whitehouse; a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Rochelle)
Rose of Plainfield, Ill.; four step-daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Robbin)
Ewald of Tiffin, Mrs. Steve (Kandy) Stone of Vanlue, Mrs. Gary
(Patricia) Risner and Mrs. Steve (Kelly) Brickner, both of Bascom;
three brothers, Peter S. Norris of Tiffin and Thomas H. and
Joseph F. Norris, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Doris
Ann Norris of Fostoria and Mary Susan Norris of Phoenix; two
grandchildren and 20 step-grandchildren.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Norris, a Navy veteran of the
Vietnam Era, retired in 1994 as a set-up man from Excello (now
Airfoil Textron), formerly of Fostoria, where he had been employed
for 28 years.
He was a member of the American
Legion, VFW, Moose and AMVETS, where he was a life member, all
of Fostoria and the Eagles, Tiffin.
Military graveside rites will be
conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria in St. Wendelin
Parish Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Daniel Ring
officiating.
A Memorial Mass will be 5:15 p.m.
Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Mr. Norris
donated his body to the Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
There will be no visitation. The
Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Elaine M. Nagle

Elaine M. Nagle, 44, of W. St.
Rte. 18 in Fostoria, died at 8:22 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, 1999,
at her sisters home in Erie, Mich. She was born Dec. 27, 1954,
to Edward and Elizabeth (Beauchamp) Yotti, her mother survives.
On Aug. 7, 1979, she married James E. Nagle, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son,
Kory Nagle of Fostoria; two daughters, Kim and Kristy Nagle
of Royal Oak, Mich.; two sisters, Sondra Steeb-Lamb of Baraboo,
Wisc. and DeeAnn Paoli of Erie, Mich.
Preceded in death were: three brothers,
Lance, Edward, and Brad Yotti; and a sister, Diane Yotti.
