(Author's Note: Today's article is an unusual one, pertaining to a worldwide historical event with religious importance, linked to Biblical references, and providing food for thought for the times in which we live. The article was prepared from data, and with photos provided by my son, Nate Krupp, who was one of 12 individuals from the United States participating in the event in Israel. Because of the subject matter of the article, "Heed God's Word" portion is eliminated.) WORLD-WIDE GATHERING One-hundred fifty-three prophets, phophetesses and intercessors, representing every continent, met on Mount Carmel, Israel, March 17-22. "It was a time of deep humbling, repentance, and prayer as they sought to be pure before God, and come into unity with each other," Nate reported. "The message that came forth as they waited upon the Lord was that the "great shaking" mentioned in Hebrews 12:25-29 has begun: "See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also the heaven. And this word, yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things that cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reference and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire." ALL THE WORKS OF MAN WILL CRUMBLE "God is going to shake the earth. All of the works of man will crumble. Political institutions will crumble; economic systems will crumble; the religious organizations of man will crumble; the only thing that will remain is Christ's Kingdom," Nate reported. To refresh readers memories, Mt. Carmel is shown on the accompanying map, in the northern part of Israel. The initial Mt. Carmel gathering was followed by a second gathering in Jerusalem, March 23-30, of 1,500 people from 40 countries. During that week, the word and inspiration that was received on Mt. Carmel was shared with the larger group to take back to their various countries. During the time that the world-wide gathering was in Israel, Nate Krupp was one of the speakers who addressed the assembly from every continent. In his message he stressed the great changes that will take place in the physical and spiritual structure of Christian churches world-wide. To refresh readers' memories it is suggested that they read I Kings, 18. It was there that Elijah the prophet, on Mt. Carmel, demonstrated to the followers of Baal the greatness and power of God. In that Bible reference the follows of Baal called upon their god to send down fire to burn the bullock offering they had prepared, but without success. ELIJAH TRIUMPHED ON MT. CARMEL It was on Mt. Carmel that Elijah called upon God to consume the offering he has prepared. "Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, the Lord, he is the God; the Lord he is the God." (Vss. 38-39). Today, it is believed that the top of Mt. Carmel, where there is a statue of Elijah, is not the spot where the miracle was performed. Rather, that it occurred further down the mountain. Someone believed there has to be a well fed by a spring near the site and did discover it along with a natural amphitheater where the 850 prophets of Baal could have easily gathered, at a lower elevation, not the top. WHERE GOD'S GREAT MIRACLE HAPPENED Joanne, Nate's wife, accompanied him on his trip to Israel, and heard further information to also confirm the authenticity of the belief that the miracle God performed for Elijah to defeat the prophets of Baal was at the lower elevation...not on the top of Mt. Carmel. The story goes that a visitor to Mt. Carmel was looking the lower site over, and as he was walking along, kicked over a stone which was a shiny green color. Picking it up, he tried to scratch it with his wife's diamond, but to no avail. The man took it to a geologist friend in Tel Aviv and inquired if he could tell him what is was. The geologist didn't know, but told the man that the stone was not native to Israel. The geologist asked that the rock be left with him for a week for analysis. The finder of the stone agreed, but told him "I did find it in Israel, but I'll not tell you where until you have analyzed it." Returning a week later, the geologist reported the stone worthless, but said, "the one thing I can tell you is that this rock has undergone a tremendous heat, like a nuclear explosion, and the green color has been caused by something like a nuclear fusion." Then, the man revealed to the geologist where he had found the rock....where God's miracle was performed. Readers who read I Kings 18, especially verse 38, discovered that "the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench." The finder of the green stone is undoubtedly happy that he is the owner of a rare relic, thousands of years old, preserved as evidence of God's miracle, and establishing the site where it was performed. The intent of today's article, other than to inform readers of the importance of the coming together of people from many nations to pray together to God for guidance, and to consider common interests, should be obvious. Here are three of my views briefed: (1) God's time-table tells us that we are living in the so-called "last days," prior to the great-shaking by God, and the return of Christ to establish His Kingdom on earth. (2) God's word has revealed his wishes for man, and there is still time for repentance, and planning for the "last days." (3) For America and its population, the future view is awesome unless there are changes in lifestyles and elimination of practices of abortion, alcohol and drugs, pornography, homosexuality, rape and other crimes, greed, dishonesty, love for money, weakened family structure. In short BACK TO THE BIBLE.
