![]() ![]() PICTURE # 31 MISC 2 and Present day END OF WORLD WAR I November 11, 1918. "The War To End All Wars". No wonder they were so excited. Adolph Hitler was just an injured Corporal who was then being mustered out into unemployment. Picture taken at corner of Main and Perry looking SOUTH. Photo was taken from an upper window of the old Fostoria Times keystone building at the junction of Main-Sandusky-Perry streets (now MARCO'S Pizza). Family Video would be just out of view on the lower right. Note the GERLINGER BAKERY sign on the right which was probably the NEW ENGLAND BAKERY (in a different time and location) shown elsewhere in this exhibit. The large building in the background is the old WOOLWORTH building which is still standing (see color photo). Information courtesy of Norman Gibat |
