60th class reunionThe Fostoria High School class of 1954 met at Fostoria Country Club July 19 to celebrate its 60th class reunion. Fifty-three attended the dinner, 41 of whom were members of the class. Day one was Friday 18th. 7-10pm for a fellowship at the country club. Day two was pictures and dinner and much socializing at the country club. Day three was a farewell breakfast buffet at the country club from 8:30-10:30. Kudos go to the planners of the reunion, Phyllis Richard, Allison Goddard and Barbara Harris and any others that have been overlooked. A candle was lit and we had a reading of our deceased classmates by Allison. Fun was had by all and the yearly mini was set for the third weekend of July 2015.![]() Row 1, from left, Roger David, Phyllis (Rader) Richard, Wesley True, Robert Hunker, Marilyn (Doe) Molineaux. We had a great get together at Flippin" Jimmys on July 21 for a lunch time of 11:30 until after 3 before everyone took leave. Quite amazing watching our over 80 yrs old classmates coming in the door. Bless them all, we had canes, walking sticks, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, ect, ect coming to have fun for the afternoon and fun we did have. You have the feeling of youth when your hanging with these folks, one reason is you have known most for over 75 yrs. We had 28 members of the class plus guests for a total 39 people that came in for the lunch. Out at Bud's Place we had a small group that showed up on Friday night and stay until after dark, had to go home or where ever we were staying in some pretty nasty weather also. But still all worth it to see and talk with the guys. Class of 54 Reunion (2019)Friday evening July 19thFriday night Bud's place was again a hit although he had to move it from the 2nd. floor "no elevator" to the 1st. floor as some can't make that climb up anymore. At least with out a degree of difficulty. Plenty of refreshments "adult style" and foods to graze on. Bud was again the perfect host.. thanks Bud. Saturday July 20thStarting time on Sat. was 11am but the crowd began arriving early, why not?? The final count I had was 36 classmates and their guests and spouses and two special guests Ron Griffin and Marilyn Miller Hauser class of 53 for 41 total. Not bad for a bunch of mature ladies and gentlemen. We had time to do tons of table hopping to say hey to most everyone before the food was served. The caterer was Dell's and the roast beef knock our socks off. All the food was great and kudos to all the people involved in bringing it to us. We had some door prizes to pass out using tickets that everyone was given when coming in the door. Some prizes were adult beverages and others gift cards. I tried to use Marilyn Doe's Molineaux daughter Jana to fix the first number draw. Didn't work total failure. LOL Jana called my name not my number, oh well story of my gaming ability. Jana was another good sport, thanks Jana. Patty Rhoad Sauber brought the class in some "koozies' with our class of 54 printed on each of them. usable or a souvenir, nice gift Patty thank you. We had four cards signed by everybody there to send to classmates we knew to be under the weather. FYI they are Bobbie Jean Geiger Bowers, Jimmy Ward, Betty Wentz Haley and the widow of Bob Radcliff, Linda. She herself is fighting cancer, thought this with a prayer circle could help her some. Our good job to all the committee people that help put this together and we will see you next year God willing and the creek don't rise. luv!!!
