Helen I. Lang. 89, Fostoria, died at 6:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30,
2005 at Good Shepherd Home.
She was born Oct. 25, 1915 in Findlay to the late Charles W.
and Margaret (Klein) Fleck. She married Gilbert W. "Gil"
Lang on June 27, 1939 in Findlay and he died May 29, 2004.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet "Jan" Farrell,
Bridgeport, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Shaun (Pat) Farrell, Brett
and Nicole Farrell; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew
Farrell; and one brother, Charles Fleck, Findlay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers,
Harold, Alfred and Arthur Fleck; and one sister, Martha Campbell.
Mrs. Lang was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin
Catholic Church where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial
will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoening
Funeral Home where a Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church and Schools.
Long, Roy M.
Roy M. Long, 92, Bettsville, died Sunday morning, Jan. 2, 2005
at Independence House, Fostoria.
He was born May 23, 1912 in Pennsylvania to the late Clarence
R. and Edna A. (Garber) Long. On. Feb. 5, 1935, he married Rosella
A. Hunker. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2004.
He is survived by one son, William R. Long, Bettsville; daughters,
Shirley R. Chapman and Diane (Tim) Lynch, both of Bettsville;
two sisters, Pearl Hemminger, Fostoria; Dorothy Mack, Tiffin;
nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, George,
John and Wilbert "Bud" Long, and a great-granddaughter,
Misti Marie Martin.
Mr. Long retired as a bus driver for Buckeye Stages and was a
lifetime farmer. He attended Zion United Methodist Church of Christ,
Bettsville.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack
Funeral Home, Tiffin. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to
a charity of the donor's choice.
Luman, Imogene
Imogene Marie "Jean" Bonner Luman, 88, went to be with
the Lord at 9:55 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at St. Catherine's
Care Center.
Imogene was born in North Baltimore on July 5, 1916 to the late
Elmer and Nona Surae (Louden) Bonner. She married Loy D. Luman
on Jan. 30, 1936 in Welmont, Ky. and he survives in Fostoria.
She is also survived by a son, Michael (Mary Lou) Luman, Fostoria;
and daughters, Carol (Bill) Hall, and Patricia (Aurice) Hoover,
both of Fostoria; daughter Sherry (Charles) Lee, Woodstock, Ga.;
and sisters, Madelyn Pingle, Findlay; and Janet Abell, Lakeland,
Fla.
A loving and compassionate grandmother who dearly loved her children,
she will be truly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
including grandchildren, Scott (Lori) Hall and Jeff (Kitty) Hall,
Fostoria; Eric Hall, Chicago, Ill.; Steve (Sharon) Hoover, Woodstock,
Ga.; Joe (Michelle) Hoover, Tiffin; Chris (Karen) Hoover, Fostoria;
Kerri (Randy) Toscano, Ft. Myers, Fla.; Deana Richard and David
(Chris) Michaels, Fostoria; Kimberly (Art) Tubbs, Lakeland, Fla.;
Lisa (Tom) Malbury, Temperance, Mich.; Mitch (Loraine) Luman,
Wadesdille, Ind.; Douglas (Ann) Allen, Minn.; and Jonathan Allen,
Chris Lee and Brandon Lee, all of Atlanta, Ga.
Her great-grandchildren include, Brooks and Brady Hall, Kinsey,
Danielle and Courtney Hall, Aubrey, Seth and Ethan Hoover, Maddie,
Johnna, and Grace Hoover, Dillon and Phillip Rickard, Ashley Herr,
Jason and Hope Andreadis, Dean and Jeremy Luman, Patricia Allen,
Brandon Canterbury, Cierra and Savannah Hoover, and Kia, Tagg
and Cali Toscano.
Granddaughter, Patti Lyn Hoover-Canterbury; sisters, Audrey Nell
Bonner and Octa Sites; and brothers, William, Francis, Ralph and
Gerald Bonner, preceded her in death.
Imogene was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church,
Rachel Circle, her church choir, the Fostoria Historical Society,
and the Fostoria Ladies Garden Club. She truly enjoyed taking
her grandchildren to the cottage on Lake Erie, doing crafts and
gardening, and playing the piano.
Funeral services to celebrate Imogene's life is 1:30 p.m., Tuesday,
Jan. 4, 2005 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria. Burial
will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Lowery, Donald E.
Donald E. Lowery, 81, Fostoria, died at 12:06 p.m. Sunday, Jan.
16, 2005 at St. Catherine's Care Center.
He was born Aug. 5, 1923 in Carey to the late Harley "Tom"
and Clara (Boes) Lowery. He married Irene E. Hammer on June 20,
1950 in St. Michaels Catholic Church, Gibsonburg and she survives
in Fostoria.
He is also survived by two sons, Larry (Jena) Lowery and Gary
(Tina) Lowery, both of Fostoria; daughter, Linda (Steve) Faber,
Tiffin; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; six brothers, Dale
(Charlotte) Lowery, Ramon (Beatrice) Lowery, Jerry (Joanne) Lowery
and Arlen (Sue) Lowery, all of Fostoria; Paul (Marguarite) Lowery,
Findlay; Roy (Nancy) Lowery, Wooster; and one sister, Gloria Krupp,
Temperance, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis E. Lowery, and two
brothers, Dean A. and Darrell Lowery.
Mr. Lowery retired from Bendix (currently Honeywell) after 30
years of service. He also worked for Kroger's for 10 years. He
was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Third Order of St.
Francis, a volunteer for the Fostoria Sharing Kitchen and the
Meals on Wheels program.
Don was a humble man who always responded to people's needs,
never expecting credit. His solid commitment to his family and
church will not be forgotten. He helped as a Mass server, communion
distributor and former parish bingo. Don was a World War II U.
S. Army Air Corps veteran.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial
will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Kerr, Geraldine L.
Geraldine Loretta "Gerry" Kerr, 99, formerly of Fostoria,
passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at Birchaven Retirement
Village, Findlay.
She was born July 12, 1905 in Bettsville, Ohio to the late Eldon
and Lydia (Few) Rosenberger.
Gerry was a 1923 graduate of Risingsun High School and was a
member of the First Church of God, Risingsun, for more than 85
years. She loved life to its fullest and made an impression on
everyone she met with her wit and charm. All who knew her will
dearly miss Gerry.
Left to cherish her memory are her many friends and her family,
including: cousins, Ms. Darlene Few, Columbus; Mrs. Judy Lamberjack,
Findlay; Mrs. Marilyn Stinehart, Fostoria; Mrs. Carolyn Tyson,
Wayne; Mr. William "Bill" Few, Risingsun; and her aunt,
Alice Few, Risingsun.
Her husbands, Calvin Schaublin and Clarence Kerr, preceded her
in death.
A memorial service to celebrate Gerry's life will be 1:30 p.m.,
Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at the First Church of God, Risingsun,
with Pastor Paul Rutledge presiding.
The family will receive guests for one hour prior to the services
on Saturday at the church. Private committal and interment will
take place in Scott Trinity Cemetery near Risingsun.
