Esquivel, Daniel Garza

Daniel Garza Esquivel, 29, of Toledo and formerly of Fostoria, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at his residence. A native of Fostoria, Daniel was born June 14, 1975 to Isabel and Sally (Garza) Esquivel, and they survive in Fostoria.

Other survivors includeD: a brother, Eddie G. (Amada)and a sister, Sylvia G. (Joe) Reidling, both of Toledo, and his nieces, Melina and Liliana Esquivel and Regina and Natalie Reidling.

A 1993 Fostoria High School graduate, Daniel was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and a skilled artist and musician.

Friends were invited to call the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where the rosary was prayed in Spanish at 7:45 p.m. Funeral Mass was 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Committal was private.

Memorials were suggested to Ronald McDonald House, Toledo.


Feasel, Lois M. “Toots”

Lois M. "Toots" Feasel, 81, formerly of Ash Street, Kansas, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Valley View Health Care Center, Fremont. She was born Nov. 23, 1923 in Kansas to the late Ovid and Helen (Hedden) Yoder. She married Louis E. "Louie" Feasel on June 30, 1943 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he died July 26, 2004.

She was survived by son, Carl (Doris), Kansas; daughters, Janet (Clark) Boatman, Kansas; Lu Ann (Joe) Lauer, East Sparta; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert "Butch" Yoder, Kansas; Dale "Buck" (Barbara) Yoder, Kansas; and one sister, Mary Lou "Sam" Drenning, Kansas. She was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Feasel was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Kansas.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoening Funeral Home where a Christian wake service was held at 3:30 p.m.Mass of Christian Burialwas 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Kansas, the Rev. Theodore A. Miller officiated. Burial was in Kansas Cemetery, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.


Ferguson, Brian Keith

Brian Keith Ferguson, 43, Fostoria, passed away Thursday, Mar. 3, 2005 in Fostoria. He was born Sept. 29, 1961 in Fostoria to Billie Ferguson, Sr., and Jimmie (Jeter) Furguson-Hunter. He married Carolyn Sue Swartz on June 6, 1992.

Survivors include his wife, his mother, four sons, Brian Keith “BJ: II, Byron, Barron, and Brandon Ferguson; three brothers, Billie Jr., Bruce and Brad Ferguson; and one sister, Dama Hunter, all of Fostoria; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends and his special friend, his dog, Debo. His father preceded him in death.

He was a member of Higher Ground Ministries in Fostoria.

Visitation was from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2005. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastors Derrick and Tonee Morant officiation. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.


Green Sr., Charles D.

Charles D. Green Sr, Fostoria, passed away on Friday, Mar. 4, 2005 in Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born on Dec. 28, 1937 in Sietz, KY to the late Hayden and Dora (Harvey) Green. He married Mariam Kieffer.

He was survived by his wife, Miriam; twin daughters, Alanna Rael Green, Findlay, and Miriam (Douglas) Goddard, Fostoria; Leslie (Paul) Allard, Norwalk; Kevin (Mary) Brandt, Heckville; Phillip B. Wilson, Indianapolis, IN; Dr. David (Amy)Wilson, Carmel, IN; and Anthony (Ginny) Wilson, Columbus; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Green; four sisters, Gladys, Mildred, Audrey and Jean. He was preceded in death by two sons; Charles D. Green Jr. and Johnathon Hayden Blair Green., a brother, Buddy; and a sister, Hazel.

He was an independent insurance agent for over 30 years in NW Ohio.

Visitation was held on Monday, Mar. 7, 2005 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2005 at the funeral home.

Memorials were suggested to the School of Opportunity or Community Tissue Services.


Fry, Pauline N.

Pauline N. Fry, 86, Alvada, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Heritage, Findlay. She was born to Martin E. and Aura E. (Stahl) Fry.

She was survived by one sister, Florence C. Fry, Findlay.

Visitation was 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, Carey, the Rev. Gary Carlson officiated.

Memorials may be made to Kentucky Mountain Bible College or Indiana Wesylan University in care of the funeral home.


Folk, Lillian G.

Lillian G. Folk, 84, West Lytle Street, died at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born June 12, 1920 in Fremont to Fredrick and Clara (Buehrer) Reichert. She married Ernest V. Folk on May 13, 1939 in Auburn, Ind.

She was survived by her husband, Ernest Folk, Fostoria; daughters, Diana Geiger, Lima; Clara Folk, Fostoria; brothers, Lyle Reichert, Elyria; Joseph Nesbitt, Fremont; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Reichert and Clara Nesbitt; son, Alan Folk; and brothers, Robert and Darwin Reichert.

Mrs. Folk was a homemaker. She was a member of Fostoria Baptist church and the Missionary Circle at her church.

Funeral service were 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, the Rev. David Chapman officiated. Burial was in Knollcrest Gardens Cemetery, near Arcadia. Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Baptist church.


Gillmor, Paul Marshall

Paul Marshall Gillmor, age 94, of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at his daughter's home in Powell. He was born Feb. 26, 1911, to the late Clarence and Gladys (Speller) Gillmor. He married his childhood sweetheart, Lucy Fry.

He was survived by his children U.S. Congressman Paul E. (Dr. Karen L.)Gillmor of Old Fort and L. Dianne (Arthur) Krumsee, Powell; grandchildren Linda (Gillmor) Gable, Julie (Gillmor) Horne, Daniel Brunk, Paul Michael Gillmor, Connor Gillmor and Adam Gillmor; great-grandchildren Brenda Gable, Lucy Horne, and Natalie Horne; brother Ralph Gillmor; sisters Margaret Drown, Lola Fry, and Beatrice Joseph. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers Robert and Ernest; sisters Frances Witter and Marian Heilman.

A 1929 Old Fort School graduate and OSU attendee, he established the Paul M. Gillmor Trucking Company and served on the boards of Matlack, Inc., the Old Fort Banking Company, and the Commercial National Bank and other boards. He was a charter member and the first president of the Old Fort Lions Club, a Boy Scout Leader.

Family and friends were received Thursday, April 14, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Engle-Shook Funeral Home, Green Springs, OH, with the funeral service on Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m., at Camden Falls Center, Tiffin, Ohio. Burial was in the Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.

Feehan, Louise

Louise Feehan, 68, 1110 Sandusky St., died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at her home. She was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Burley and Grace (Terry) Watson. She married Bernard L. "Bernie" Feehan on June 18, 1977 in Hammond, Ind.

She was survived by her husband, Bernard "Bernie" Feehan, Fostoria; two sons, Larry Hall and Gregory Hall, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Kathy Walker, Hammond, Ind.; Connie Scholidon, Fostoria; two stepsons, Michael Feehan, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Patrick Feehan, Van Buren; five stepdaughters, Barbara Untalan, Fostoria; Janet Deaton, Carey; Mary Jo Simmons, Mt. Clemens, Mich.; Debra Meyers, Findlay; Ann Feehan, Green Springs; one brother, Enos Watson, Hammond, Ind.; one sister, Thelma Gibson, Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Obrene Watson and Morgan Lee Watson; and one sister, Sue Carol Watson.

Mrs. Feehan retired in 1999 as assistant head housekeeper of Good Shepherd Home, after 22 years of service.

Visitation was 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera presided. Burial was in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Memorials were suggested to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin, or Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.


Evans, Florence

Florence E. Evans, 99, died at 5:08 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Independence House, Fostoria, where she was resident.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Mann-Hare Funeral Home.

Florence E. Evans, 99, passed away on May 3, 2005 at Independence House, Fostoria.

Mrs. Evans was born May 29, 1905 in her family home two miles west of Fostoria in Washington Township, to the late Thomas Jefferson "T.J." and Anna May (Stouffer) Manecke. On Aug. 27, 1932 she was married to George O. Evans at her parent's South Ridge Road residence, Fostoria. George preceded her in death on April 22, 1982.

Survivors included: a son, Dr. George O. (Vicki)II, Greenville, NC, a daughter, Louanne (Marvin) Miller, Bay Village, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lori M. Evans, Los Angeles, Calif., T. Jeffrey (Brenda) Miller, Callaway, Md., and Trent J. (Michele) Miller, Bloomingdale, Ill.; and four great grandchildren.

A daughter, Malinda Mae Evans, and a sister, L. Leona Manecke, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Evans, a descendant of early settlers of Washington Township, was a lifelong resident of the Fostoria area. During her youth, she attended Pleasant View United Brethren Church. At her death, she had been a 72-year member of the High Street United Methodist Church (formerly the First Evangelical United Brethren Church) where she was past president and founding member of the 1937 Bereans and was also affiliated with the WSCS and the Pathfinders Class.

Mrs. Evans attended Lover's Lane School in Washington Township and was a 1923 Fostoria High School graduate and attended Bowling Green State University. She was an employee of National Carbon and Bersted Manufacturing.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, the Rev. Jeffrey Waite officiated. Interment followed in Fountain Cemetery. The family received friends and relatives on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to services in the funeral home.

The family requested memorials to the High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria, the Meals on Wheels on Wheels Program at Fostoria Community Hospital, Fostoria, the religious organization or charity of the donor's choice.


Guernsey, Eleanor Louise

Eleanor Louise Guernsey, 87, died May 8, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born May 22, 1917 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, to the late Herbert E. and Carrie M. (Smith) Cook.

She married James D. Guernsey on Sept. 12, 1942 in Cuyahoga Falls and he proceeded her in death in 1993 in Fostoria.

Survivors included: daughter, Carol L. (Dennis) Reffner, Fostoria; son, Donald J. (Gayle), Fostoria; sister, Henrietta E. (Walter) Warner, Hudson, OH, grandchildren James D. Reffner, West Chester; Jay W. Reffner, Findlay; David J., Thomas C. and Carrie M. Guernsey, all of Fostoria; great-granddaughters, Samantha L., Abigail L. and Wendi E. Reffner; great-grandsons, Guy D. Guernsey and Alex J. Reffner; step great-grandsons, J. Andrew and Matthew T. Bremner; three nieces; and two nephews.

A 1934 Cuyahoga Falls high school graduate, a 1938 (Bachelor's) and 1939 (Master's) Oberlin College graduate with post-graduate work at Middlebury College, Vt. and at La Sorbonne in Paris, France. Eleanor taught French and English for 27 years at Fostoria, Ashland and Cuyahoga Falls High Schools. She served during World War II with the American Red Cross at the Shepard Air Force Field, Wichita Falls, Texas, and at headquarters in Denver, Colo. After the war, she worked at the Electric Autolite Co. before resuming teaching.

Eleanor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, for 60 years. She served as president of the Fostoria Chapter of the Association of University Women; regent of the Jane Washington Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; member of Psi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, women's educational sorority; member of the Colonial Dames, 17th Century; the Ohio Retired Teachers' Association; the Ohio Genealogical Society; the Fostoria Woman's Club; the American Legion Auxiliary; the Fostoria Shriners Ladies Group; the Dendarah Court; Toledo Ladies Shrine; and the American Red Cross.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Edson Reed and Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga presiding. Burial followed in Fountain Cemetery.

Memorials were suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, OH 44830.


Elliot, Lucius James

Lucius James Elliott was still born on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.

He was survived by his parents, Michael J. and Sharyn J. (Newman) Elliott, Risingsun; paternal grandmother, Marcella Elliott, Risingsun; maternal grandfather, James Newman, Bradner; maternal great-grandparents, Trontous and Ethel Amos, Brander; brother, Marcus J., at home; sisters, Jennifer Dotson, Custar; and Jolene Prichard and Jessica Prichard, both at home.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, George Robert Elliott and maternal grandmother, Jo Elizabeth Newman.

Private graveside services were Saturday at the Graham Cemetery, Wayne, with the Rev. William Hastings officiating. There was no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Faith Calvary Church, Bradner, OH.

Fruth, Eileen W.

Eileen W. Fruth, 76, resident of Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the care center.

She was born July 11, 1928 in Fostoria to Harold and Margaret (Ward) Fruth.

She was survived by sister-in-law, Susan Fruth, Fostoria; nephew, Stephen Fruth, Fostoria; nieces, Susan Burger, Kaneohe, Hawaii; Catherine Bourgeois, Worthington; and five grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lester Fruth.

Eileen was a 1946 graduate of Fostoria High School and a 1950 graduate of Defiance College where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree.

Private graveside services were at Fountain Cemeteryat 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin.

Gillett, Victor E.

Victor E. Gillett, 67, of Elwood Avenue died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 8 p.m. at the Toledo Hospital.

He was born Oct. 20, 1937 in Vickery, Ohio to John and Gladys Churchill-Gillett. Victor married Dorcas Graber on Feb. 15, 1958 at the First Christian Church in Fostoria.

He was survived by his wife, Fostoria; mother-in-law, Esther Graber, Fostoria; son, Don (Angela), Fostoria; daughters, Deborah (Steven) Engler and Gayla (Scott) Watson, both of Fostoria; brothers, David (Laura), Indianapolis, IN; Gerald (Barbara), Onaway, MI,; sister, Carolyn (James) Billings, Clyde; grandchildren, Dawn Engler and fiancé Mircea Petrescu: James (Christie) Engler; Melissa Watson and fiancé Bradley Hartman; Ashley (Nicholas) Gilts; Kyle Watson; D. Zachary, Nicholas and Alexis Gillett; and great-grandchild, Hope Watson-Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Albert and Robert.

Victor retired in 1994 as a machinist at the Atlas Crankshaft Co. in Fostoria. Prior to that he was the owner and operator of Shirley Ann Bakery in Fostoria. A member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria, he attended Clyde High School. He was a member and on the Board of Directors of Fostoria Area Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2005 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria with the Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga officiating. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.


Floyd, Ida Mae

Ida Mae Floyd, 93, Fostoria, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Arbors of Toledo.

Ida Mae was born on Feb. 15, 1912 in Spartanburg County, S.C. to the late Jesse and Ella (McBeth) Fant. Her husband of more than 50 years, Buster Floyd, preceded her in death on March 31, 1982.

Brothers, J.W., Andrew and Thomas B.and a brother in childhood, and sisters, Cleo C. Tucker and Virginia E. Fant, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Floyd was one of the founding members of the Faith A.M.E. Church in Fostoria. Mrs. Floyd retired from Fostoria Community Hospital as a housekeeper.

She was survived by daughters, Ella Mae Cheeks, Fostoria; Hazel (William) Thomas, Cleveland; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Louise Ferguson and Delia Shirley Fairley and an adopted sister, R. Marie Ferguson, all of Fostoria; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Home going services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the Faith A.M.E. Church with Pastor Archie White and Mrs. Floyd's nephew, the Rev. Thomas H. Fant presiding. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home.

Memorials were suggested to the church.


Feindel, Cleo A.

Cleo A. Feindel, 91, formerly of Bascom, died at 1:45 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2005 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she had been residing for the past five years. Born March 21, 1914 in Loudon Township to the late Curtis and Lena (Heilman) Zeller, she married Harold E. Feindel on April 12, 1936 in Fostoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1954.

Survivors included daughters, Wiletta (Don) Knepper, Lima; Virginia Haugh, Fostoria; son, Weldon (Patricia), Tiffin; grandchildren, Rodney Brown, Jene` Drage, Kevin Brown, Kenneth, Steven and Michael Walter, Julie English and Matt Feindel; 11 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys (Norman) Stout, Lebanon, Ohio.

One grandson, Brad Brown, also preceded her in death.

A 1932 Fostoria High School graduate, Mrs. Feindel retired as the postmaster from the Bascom Post Office. She was also the caretaker of the Fostoria Roadside Park for more than 10 years.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ in Bascom and its Women's Fellowship, and was a charter member of the Bascom Community Garden Club, Well Don Farm Bureau Council and Hopewell Farm Women's Club. Mrs. Feindel also served as a 4-H Club advisor for a number of years.

Private graveside services and interment were in Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom. Public services were at a later date.

Ferguson, Marguerite S.

Marguerite S. Ferguson, 89, Cleveland Street, died at 1:35 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2005 at St. Catherine's Care Center.

She was born May 9, 1916 in Alvada to Adam and Herminia (Grine) Welly. She married Robert W. Ferguson on May 10, 1941 at St. Peter's Church, Alvada.

She was survived by her husband, Fostoria; son, Duane M., Riverdale, GA; daughter, Sharon (Tom) York, Winter Haven, FL; brothers, Arthur and Norman Welly, both of Tiffin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cletus, Paul, Florian and Virgil Welly; and sisters, Irma Welly, Rosemary Miller and Eunice Styer.

Mrs. Ferguson was a homemaker and employed at the Ash Hat Co., Fostoria. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella.

Celebration of life was 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Ring officiating. Burial was in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home where a Rosary was prayed at 7:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.


Frias, Arlene H.

Arlene H. Frias, 96, formerly of Vanlue, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at The Heritage, Findlay. She was born Jan. 8, 1909 in St. Joe, Ind. to the late John and Bessie (Searl) Hart. She married Richard R. Frias on Oct. 4, 1941 in Kentucky and he died Feb. 11, 1992.

She was survived by sons, Michael Frias, Las Vegas, NV; Harold Caskie, Miami, OK; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Brandeberry; brothers, Donald, Jim and Charles Hart; and sisters, Anna Brown, Alberta Jones, Gladys Hart, Stella Wellendorf and Lillian Gordon.

Arlene had been employed by Bersted Manufacturing, Fostoria Screw Co., and Autolite, all of Fostoria. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Ferguson, Loeta E.

Leota E. Ferguson, 100, Wayne, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Wood Haven Health Care, Bowling Green.

She was born June 7, 1905 in Hoytville to Clarence W. and Orpha J. (Thomas) Dermer. She married John Ferguson on June 26, 1926 in Hoytville and he died Jan. 6, 1953.

She was survived by son, John, Richmond, KY; daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Jane) Knisely, Wayne; brothers, Bruce Dermer, Archbold; Ronald Dermer, Toledo; sister, Elsba Shafer, McComb; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Dermer.

Mrs. Ferguson retired from B & W Oil Company as secretary after 26 years. She was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church, the Ruth Circle, a member of Wayne-Bradner Senior Citizens and Bowling Green Senior Citizens. She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1923.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at the Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne, with the Rev. Betty Wineland officiating. Burial was in Graham Cemetery, Wayne. Visitation was 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Guernsey, John Thomas

John Thomas Guernsey, 87, Lima, a retired Court of Appeals judge, died at 8:30 a.m. June 19, 2005 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born in Fostoria on July 23, 1917, one of six children of the late Judge Charles A. Irma F. (Schwaab) Guernsey. On Sept. 2, 1942, he married Betty Nan Bowdle in Lima and she died in 1995.

Their sons, John Thomas II, Omaha, NE and Geoffrey Timothy, Taunton, England, and three granddaughters survived.

A 1934 Lima Central High School graduate, He received a A.B. degree in 1938 from the University of Michigan College and a J.D. degree in 1940 from the University of Michigan Law School.

He practiced law at Lima with Congressman Bob Jones until he was drafted into the Army in March 1941. He served for five years (private to major) in the Signal Intelligence Service and Military Intelligence Service.

Judge Guernsey renewed his law practice on April 11, 1946 in association with James J. Weadock and became Allen County assistant prosecuting attorney under Anthony J. Bowers in 1949.

Recalled to active duty in the Army in September 1950, he served as a member of the General Staff Corps for 1½ years. He resumed his practice of law and the position of assistant prosecuting attorney on return to civilian life in 1952.

Elected in 1956, he took office in February 1957 as judge of the Third District Court of Appeals and served continuously for five six-year terms in that capacity until his retirement at the end of January 1987. He served as presiding judge of that court for 10 years and also served a term as Chief Justice of all the Courts of Appeals of Ohio. In the 1970s, Judge Guernsey served by appointment of the Supreme Court of Ohio as a member of its Civil Rules Committee and its Appellate Rules Committee. He also served by appointment at various times during his career on the Ohio Supreme Court. Judge Guernsey continued to serve after retirement as an appellate judge by appointment of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Judge Guernsey was a member of Lima Shrine Club, Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Dayton, Elks Lodge 54, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 96, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Allen County Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association and other organizations.

Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Siferd Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel, Lima, with Rev. Tom Cover officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Fagan, Alberta Marie

Alberta Marie Fagan, 83, Fostoria, died at 11:23 a.m., Sunday, June 19, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. She was born Dec. 27, 1921 in Rawson, Ohio to the late Lloyd C. and Maude D. (Flick) Winkler. She married Vaynard Ersel "Van" Fagan, on Jan. 9, 1943 in Waukegon, Ill. and he died Feb. 8, 2004.

One grandson, Tony A. Fagan, and three brothers, Thiel, Wallace, and Eugene Winkler, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fagan retired in 1982 from Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Ford Wagon Train Camping Club in Fostoria.

Her suvivors included daughters, Mary L. (Timothy) Rife, Fostoria; Barbara J. (David) Dombrowsky, Brighton, MI; sons, William R. (Nancy), New York; Robert A. (Terri), Orlando, FL; Donald E. (Judy), Findlay; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma (Luther) Marquart, Vermillion.

Graveside services were 1 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Knollcrest Gardens Chapel, Arcadia, interment followed.

The family requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.


Farwig, Joyce Evelyn

Joyce Evelyn (Herbert) Farwig, 88, of Fostoria, passed away at 3:48 a.m., Sunday, June 26, 2005 at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. A Fostoria native, she was born Jan. 18, 1917 to the late Abraham and Minnie (Rowe) Herbert. She married Arnold H. "Dutch" Farwig on March 25, 1939 in Indiana, and he survived.

Also surviving are four daughters, Dian Schnitzler, Ohio; Sherrie Blake, Arizona; Kay Zygala, Illinois; and Patricia Graham, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Farwig was a Fostoria elementary school teacher retiring in 1979. A 1934 Fostoria High School graduate, she received her advanced education and teaching certificate from Bowling Green State University. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Wed., June 29, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga presiding. Interment followed in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Friends called on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Richard Kent Fenton, 78, of Findlay, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2005 at Birchaven Retirement Village. He was born in Hancock County on Dec. 25, 1926 to the late Edgar and Mary (Carter) Fenton. He was the widower of Dorthy (Ward) Fenton.

He was survived by daughter, Doretta Fenton-Schmidt, Bowling Green; son, Richard G., Findlay; sister, Dorothy Bright, Sidney; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, John and James Fenton.

He served as a shipfitter 3/c in the U.S. Navy

Visitation was 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Routson Funeral Chapel, Findlay. Religious service were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dana Ward officiating. Graveside services followed at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay. Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad performed the Military Rites.

She was survived by her father, Fostoria; son, Travis Ray-Lee Gray, Fostoria; and sister, Lisa L. Green, Fostoria.

Earl, Carolyn Belle

Carolyn Belle Earl, 76, of Fostoria, died at 12:35 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 at her residence. She was born June 15, 1929 in Arcadia, Ohio to the late Raymond C. and Marjorie A. (Stall) Bricker. She married John E. "Jack" Earl on Oct. 14, 1950 in Fostoria and he survived in Fostoria.

Also surviving were grandchildren, Shawn M. Earl, Fostoria; Katie E. Earl, Columbus; a brother, Carl D. "Butch" (Judy) Bricker, Fostoria; a sister, Betty J. Ecker, Fostoria. Sons, Richard "Rick" and Randy, and brothers, Tom and William, also preceded her in death.

A 1947 Jackson-Liberty High School graduate, she was employed as a waitress at the former Civic Nic-Nak in Fostoria and various other local restaurants. She ran the concessions stands at Meadowlark Park and the Fostoria City Pool for 33 years. She was a member of the Kansas United Methodist Church and St. Catherine's of Fostoria Auxiliary.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Ivan Schwenn presiding. Burial followed in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia. Friends called the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Anna L. Frankart, 85, rural Fostoria, died 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005 at the Independence House, Fostoria. Mrs. Frankart was born March 10, 1920 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Charles and Frances T. (Kuntz) Smith. She married Arthur M. Frankart on Sept. 7, 1940 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he died Sept. 2, 1978.

Survivors included: daughter, Marilyn (Dale) Wilson, Gibsonburg; sons, Gary, Keith (Linda Jones), Tim (Peg), and Bill, all Fostorians; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cecilia Haugh, Attica. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Smith; sons, Richard, Michael and Daniel; sisters, Eileen Walter and Mary Ruehle; brothers, James, Marion and Eugene Smith.

Anna was a homemaker, who retired from Bendix, Fostoria in 1983 after 22 years. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and a 1938 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin.

Mass of Christian burial took place Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a Rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Visitation took place Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Rosary was prayed at 3:45 p.m., followed by a CL of C memorial service at 6 p.m.

Grove, Irvin Eugene

Irvin Eugene "Gene" Groves, 65, Havana, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 in Tallahassee, FL.

He was survived by his wife of 45 years, Emily "Trudy", daughter Candice (James) Heilman, Green Springs; sons, Scott, Havana, FL; Todd E. (Jean), Tiffin; sisters, Patricia Michaels, Fremont; Barbara Groves, Fostoria; Charlotte Whitmayer, Fostoria; and granddaughters, Fawne Heilman, Rachel Groves and Erin Groves.

A native Fostorian, he had lived in Green Springs and moved to Havana, Fla. in November of 2004. He was a retired electrician with 20 years of service with Daimler Chrysler Corp.

Mr. Groves was a member of Moose Lodge #846 in Tiffin. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963.

Graveside services were 2 p.m. today at the Woodville Cemetery, Woodville, FL.

Goatley, Melvin H.

Melvin H. Goatley, 59, Fostoria, died on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005 at his residence. He was born on July 26, 1946 in Springfield, KY to the late James T. and Carrie L. (Barnett) Goatley. He married Jane L. Nelson on Feb. 24, 1973 in Fostoria.

He was survived by his wife, Jane; a daughter, Heather M. Pendelton, Findlay; a sister, Mary Jane (Johnny) Essex and a brother, Buddy Goatley, both of Springfield, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Ann Sallee.

Mr. Goatley retired in 1996 as a production coordinator from Fostoria Industries after nearly 20 years. He had also been employed at Centrix in Findlay for five years and General Elecric, Louisville, KY for 11 years. A 1964 graduate of Washington Co. (KY) High School, he was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War, in which he received a Purple Heart.

Visitation was on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005 from 3-5 p.m. And 7-9 p.m. at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Funeral services were held at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Brian Jones presiding. Military graveside rites conducted by the United Veteran of Fostoria preceded burial in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.

Memorials were suggested to the Disabled Veterans of America or the American Lung Assocation.


Fry, Norman H., Sr.

Norman H. Fry Sr., 87, passed away on Sept. 4, 2005 at Hospice House in Sun City Center, FL.

He was survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred; son, Norman H. Jr.; daughters, Deanne Carpenter and Nancy Frisch; brother, Dugan Fry; sisters, Evelyn Fey, Betty Schubet and Ruth Muir; grandchildren, Brad, Nicole and Kelly; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William.

Norman moved to Brandon, Fla. in 1987 from Fostoria, Ohio. He retired from the Ottawa Rubber Co., Bradner, Ohio, was a veteran of WWII and was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.

Goshe, Donald L.

Donald L. Goshe, 75, of rural Tiffin, passed away Sept. 7, 2005 at Medical University of Ohio, Toledo. He was born Aug. 19, 1930 in New Riegel to Edmund D. Armina A. (Reinhart) Goshe. On Sept. 1, 1956 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde, he married Georgia Filsinger, and she survived in Tiffin.

Other survivors included son, Larry (Kathy), Tiffin; daughter, Diana (Dennis) Humphrey of Forest; brothers, Richard and Harold (Alma), Fostoria; sisters, Roseanna (Andrew) Weyer, Sandusky and Alma (Larry) Hiller, Dola; a sister-in-law, Patricia Goshe, Findlay; and grandchildren, Robert Goshe, Tiffin, Lauren and Alyssa Humphrey, Forest. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gerald and Ivan and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Goshe.

Mr. Goshe was a machinist at General Electric, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Riegel American Legion Post #354 and New Riegel Moose #872. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

A funeral mass was 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. James Steinle officiating. A rosary was prayed 15 minutes prior to the mass. Burial followed in the parish cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post #354. Friends visited 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with a Christian Wake service at 7:45 p.m. Memorial services were at 7 p.m., conducted by New Riegel American Legion Post #354.

Elchert, Charles R.

Charles R. "Bump" Elchert, 68, Tiffin, died at 5:04 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 at Kingston Care Center, Sylvania. He was born Oct. 27, 1936 in Tiffin to Earl and Lillian (Lehnert) Elchert. He married Marshia Huth on July 13, 1957 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church and she died May 30, 2001.

He was survived by son, Rich, DC, Tiffin; daughters, Diane (Tim) Tiell, Tiffin; Beth (Daniel) Dell, Bascom; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert, Tiffin. He was preceded in death by son, Edmund Ley; daughters, Helena "Tina" Woelke and Sharon Conley; sister, Nancy Elchert; and brother, Paul, Sr.

A 1955 Calvert High school graduate, he retired from the Tiffin Fire Department in 1985. He also worked as a plumber. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, Amvets, Knights of Columbus, Eagles and Moose Lodge.

Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Rev. David M. Ross officiating. A rosary was recited in the church 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Emerine, Erin Marie

Erin Marie Emerine, 25, Columbus, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 20, 2005 at her residence. She was born April 23, 1980 in Tiffin to Dennis and Janet (Clouse) Emerine, and they survived in New Riegel.

She was also survived by two sisters, Jennifer (Robert) Dorado, Columbus; Kimberly (Harlan) Howard, Detroit, Mich.; paternal grandmother, Luella Emerine, Fostoria; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Paul Emerine; and maternal grandparents, Alvin and Bessie Clouse.

Erin was a 1998 New Riegel graduate and a 2001 Eastern Michigan University graduate. She worked for the Ohio Board of Regents as an administrator of college access information. She was also a member of the Board of Columbus Habitat for Humanity and its Home Selection Committee. She belonged to Women's Leadership for Education.

Funeral Mass was 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel. Visitation was 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service was performed at 8:45 p.m.

Dale L. Edwards, 75, Bradner, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at his residence. He was born to Willie W. and Iva Belle (Hoover) Edwards.

Eichar, Judy A.

Judy A. Eichar, 56, died at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at her North Baltimore residence. She was born Nov. 15, 1948 in Findlay to George and Virginia (Reichenbach) Buchanan and her mother survives in North Baltimore. On June 8, 1990, she married Charles "Chuck" Eichar and he survived.

Also surviving were: sons, Jeff (Denise) Shupe, North Baltimore; Dallas (Karen) Shupe, Yuma, Ariz.; daughter, April (Jeff) Ramsey, North Baltimore; James and Tom (Linda), both of North Baltimore; Curt (Becky), Cygnet; sisters, Nancy Wasserman, Mechanicsburg; Mary Ann (Chuck) Simons, Findlay; Barb Ray (Jerry) Roberts, Cygnet; Lynda (Greg) Rister, North Baltimore; Joan (Denny) Tesnow, Arcadia; and Patti (Bob) Gazarek, North Baltimore; and grandchildren, Joey, DJ, Katie, Tearra and Rylee. Mrs. Eichar was preceded in death by her brother Dan and father.

Judy was a 1966 graduate of North Baltimore High School where she was a majorette. She was a member of the North Baltimore American Legion Auxiliary for over 20 years. She had served as the Midget Cheerleader assistant coach from 2002-04.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005 at Smith-Crates Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Eichar and Pastor Virginia Geaman officiating. Burial was in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation was from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Glada E. "Sue" Gangwer, 86, Fall Street, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct 16, 2005 at St. Catherine's Care Center. She was born Dec. 23, 1918 in Bloomdale to Orvil and Orpha (Barringer) King. She married Paul Gangwer on Oct. 12, 1937 in Bettsville.

She was survived by son, George (Regi), Fostoria; daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Hopkinson, Fostoria; sisters, Marlene (Richard) Sallisbury and Jean (Harry) Shaw, both of Fostoria; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald; daughter, Marilyn Gangwer; brothers, Bud, John, Bill, Keith and Dean King; and sister, Helen King.

Mrs. Gangwer was a homemaker.

Geroski, Steven Paul III

Steven Paul Geroski III, 71, Fostoria, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at his home. He was born April 25, 1934 in Cleveland to the late Steven Paul II and Mary (Zak) Geroski. He married his childhood sweetheart Marian Kolbus on Aug. 30, 1958 in Cleveland.

He was survived by his wife, Fostoria; sons, Steven Paul IV (Cyndi), Fostoria; Matthew (Michelle), Grove City; daughters, Lynn (David) Swartzwelder, Keystone Heights, FL; Catherine (Joseph) Pozzuto, Chesterland; sister, Rita (Frank) Szfranski, Parma Heights; and 10 grandchildren, Brett Swartzwelder, Gainsville, FL; Jeremy Swartzwelder, Keystone Heights, Fla.; Steven Paul V., Madison, Jordan and "Cookie" Lauren Geroski, all of Fostoria; Matthew and Morgan Geroski, both of Grove City; and Joseph and Mia Pozzuto, both of Chesterland.

Steve retired as a general supervisor from Allied (now Honeywell) in 1994 after 34 years of service. He was a member and treasurer of the Lake Plains Barber Shop Chorus, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

He was the "voice" of the St. Wendelin boys and girls basketball games, served on the First Ohio Credit Union board, and was active with Habitat For Humanity.

A graduate of St. Bonaventure Minor Seminary, Wisconsin and Kent State University, he served as a first lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force.

Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary was prayed at 10:30 a.m. Military honors by the United Veteran's of Fostoria took place following the Mass at St. Wendelin's Church. Burial was at a later date in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery. Visitation was 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoening Funeral Home where a Christian Wake service took place at 4:50 p.m.


Frankfather, Olive L.

Olive L. Frankfather, 84, of High St., Bellevue died on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky. She was born to Herbert and Inez Mae (Rose) Hooper.

She was survived by her husband, Henry Frankfather; daughters, Thelma (James)Thompson, Bellevue; Gloria (Bern) Good, North Monroeville; and sons, Virgil (Chris), Arizona; and Robert (Ruth), Bellevue.

Visitation was on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue, OH. The funeral was 10:30 a.m. Wedneday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Brown officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellevue.

Ecker, Betty J.

Betty J. Ecker, 73, of Fostoria, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at her residence.
Born July 9, 1932 in Arcadia, Ohio to the late Raymond and Marjorie (Stall) Bricker, she married Donald R. Ecker on June 2, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1998.

Two brothers, Tom and William Bricker, and one sister, Carolyn Earl, also preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons, Donald Ecker, Jr., Cleveland, Christopher (Karen) Ecker, Columbus, Timothy Ecker, Fostoria, and Michael (Christine) Ecker, Dover, New Hampshire; three daughters, Marjorie (Paul) Sirocky, Brook Park, Jennifer (Dennis) Colasuanno, Chapel Hill, N.C., and M. Linda (Al) Linn, Garrettsville; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Carl “Butch” (Judy) Bricker, Fostoria.

Mrs. Ecker was a devoted wife and mother and worked in real estate, most recently as owner and operator of B. Ecker Realty in Fostoria. She was a member of Kansas United Methodist Church and a past member of the Fostoria Kiwanis Club. She was also a former member of the Ohio and National Board of Realtors and was past president of the Fostoria Board of Realtors.
Betty attended The Ohio State University and received an Associates degree in business from Cuyahoga Community College, Parma. She enjoyed bowling, needlework, and reading and was well known for her outstanding homemade candy.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 21, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. in the funeral home.

Groves, Max E.

Max E. Groves, 70, Lima, died at 5:34 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born May 27, 1935 to Glenn and Luella (Wagner) Groves and his mother survived. He married Carolyn R. Lawson on Oct. 1, 1960 in Lima.

He was also survived by a son, Jeffery A., Leesburg, VA; daughter Alicia M. Groves, Lima; brothers, Donald (Mary Kaythryn), St. George, UT; Thomas (Debbie), Fostoria; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dean.

Mr. Groves was an inspector at Ford and retired in 1988 after more than 31 years. Mr. Groves was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Lima Council #2661 and a 4th Degree Bishop Neumann Assembly #829. He was the treasurer of Lima Astronomy Club, projectionist for Findlay, Ohio Stamp and Postcard Club and member of the Eagles Aerie #370, Lima.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima, with Rev. David Ritchie officiating. Burial was in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima where a 4th degree Knights of Columbus honor guard was present and a wake service at 8 p.m.

Fugett, Minuard Edgal

Minuard Edgal Fugett, 83, Fostoria, died 10:37 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 in Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1922 in Wayne County, W.Va. to the late Henry and Plina (VanHoose) Fugett. Mr. Fugett married Lorraine Diamond and she died in 1980.

Survivors included: son, Clifford, Seneca, SC; daughters, Donna Jean Meeker, Findlay; Anna Marie Gregg and Anita Fay Palmer, both of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Jim, Fostoria; Henry, Jr., and Tom, both of West Virginia; and sisters, Dixie Runion, Martha Varney, and Mary Bolen, all of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by sons, Edgal Jr., and Charles Henry; brothers, L.D., Herbert, and Russell; sisters, Louise Dove and Katherine Dillon.

Mr. Fugett was a coal miner for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Church of God, and served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

Visitation took place 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Goodwin, presiding. Burial followed in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, where the United Veterans of Fostoria provided Military Honors.

Memorials were suggested to St. Jude's Children Research.


Echelbarger, Gerald Dean

Gerald Dean Echelbarger, 91, Bradner, died at 4:25 a.m. Dec. 6, 2005 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He was born to Andrew J. and Hattie V. (Vosburg) Echelbarger.

He was survived by sons, Paul David, Bowling Green; Chester Ray, Seville; daughters, Mary Lou Hansen, Bowling Green; Many J. Kern, Helena; and sister, Eva Nye, Bowling Green.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday at the Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Visitation was 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Elchert, Robert E.

Robert E. Elchert, 76, Tiffin, died at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 in Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital, Tiffin. He was born to Earl and Lillian (Lehnert) Elchert.

He was survived by his wife, Margaret, Tiffin; and children, Karen Elchert and Brenda Kocak, both of Dublin; Nicholas Elchert and Gregory Elchert, both of Tiffin; Stephen Elchert, Fremont.

Funeral Mass was 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. A Rosary was recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Seneca County Veterans performed military rites.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin.

Gee, Mabel

Mrs. Mabel (Whitley) Gee, 92, Findlay, passed away at 4:47 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 at The Heritage. Findlay. Mrs. Gee was born in Whitley County, Ky. on Jan. 17, 1913, to the late Henry and Linnie Alice (Mason) Whitley. She was the widow of William Gee. They were married on June 11, 1934.

She was survived by her daughter: Alice (Jim) Williams, Findlay; sisters: Alafair Shonkwiler, Portsmouth; Myrtle Hughes, Wheelersburg, grandchild, Jennifer (Ron) Cooper, and great-grandchildren, Allison and Chad.

Mabel worked as a sales associate for SS Kresge's and then became a housewife and a volunteer at the Fostoria Community Hospital for 13 years.

She was a member of Stonebridge Church of God, the Willing Worker's Sunday School Class, and the Stonebridge Women's Ministries.

Visitation was 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at Routson Funeral Chapel, Findlay where a religious service followed at 7 p.m. with Revs. Greg Smith, Trace Roth and Ronald Cooper officiating. Visitation was be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at Brant Funeral Home where a religious service will follow at 7 pm. Interment was held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005.

Fruth, Vincent A.

Vincent A. Fruth, 90, Good Shepherd Home and formerly of Fourth Street, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1915 in Seneca County to Abraham and Emma (Heilman) Fruth. He married Evelyn R. Peters on Feb. 10, 1940 in Hancock County and she died Feb. 5, 1999.

He was survived by daughter, Naomi "Nikki" (John) O'Dell, Fostoria; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Fruth, Findlay; grandchildren, Joy Fruth, Jana (Mike) Weaver and Christopher (Chandra) O'Dell; and great-grandchildren, Carter, Cheyenne and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, David.

Mr. Fruth retired in 1990 as a self-employed farmer. He also worked at Hochstettler Mill, Findlay, and was a Pinkerton guard at Atlas Crankshaft and Roppe Rubber, both in Fostoria. He was a member of Trinity United Brethren Church.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Sampson officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near West Independence. Visitation was 4 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
