He was born May 5, 1911 in Van
Buren to Harry Oliver and Josie (Kleckner) Burrell.
He married Mildred R. Feller on Oct. 30, 1934,
and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, John
D. Jr. of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two daughters,
Mrs. Eugene E. (Elva L.) Kirian, Bowling Green;
and Mrs. Myron J. (Mary A.) Kauffman, Van Buren;
10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and
a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by
three brothers, Clair, Delos and Orlo; and a
sister, Bernette Wingate.
Mr. Burrell retired in 1973
from Union Carbide Company, Fostoria.
He was a member of Van Buren
United Methodist Church and Knights of Pythias.
Funeral services will be held
at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coldren-Crates Funeral
Home, Findlay, the Revs. Ben Lowell and James
Sharrett officiating. Burial will be in Bechtel
Cemetery, Van Buren.
Visitation will be held from

Dorothy M. Bloom, 91, of Fremont,
died Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2001, in the
Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born Nov. 23, 1909,
in Elmore, to Henry and Lydia (Wendt) Croll.
Her husband, Oliver Bloom, whom she married
June 25, 1930, in Elmore, died in August 1995.
Survivors include: a daughter,
Ardith Rinebold of Fostoria; a son, Lowell H.
Bloom of Goodyear, Ariz.; a sister, Helen Stiger
of Chambersburg, Pa.; four grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Richard
Croll.
Mrs. Bloom, a 1927 graduate
of Elmore High School, was a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church, Fremont and its Crusaders
Class.
She enjoyed sewing and baking
pies and camping with her husband.

3 p.m. Thursday in the Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery,
Elmore.

Jose C. "Joe" Bernal Sr., 50,
of Pasadena, TX., died at 11:35 p.m., Saturday,
March 17, 2001, in Ben Taub General Hospital,
Houston, TX.
He was born Nov. 28, 1950 in
Fostoria, to Ismael B. and Maria C. (Carmona)
Bernal. They survive in San Antonio, TX. Mr.
Bernal married Emma Martinez, they later were
divorced. In 1992 he married Anecia Miller.
She died in l999.
Survivors also include: two
sons; Jose Miller of Louisiana and Jose C. Bernal,
Jr. of Cleburne, TX, 3 daughters; Lisa A. Bernal,
of Fostoria, Angel Verdin, of Louisiana, and
Joann Bernal, of Rosenberg, TX, six brothers,
Marvin, Gilbert "Bob", Raul "Rudy", and John
P. Bernal all of Fostoria, Miguel "Mike" Bernal
of San Antonio, TX, and Mario Bernal, of Needville,
TX, five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Aurora) Robinson,
Mrs. Agapito (Alicia) Gonzales and Estelle Bernal
all of Fostoria, Sylvia Hoening of Liberty Center

Mr. Bernal had been employed
for 18 years at National Transmission, Houston,
TX., and had worked locally at the former Bill
O'Donnell Chevrolet in Fostoria. He attended
Fostoria High School, was a former member of
St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and was
a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, Pasadena,
TX.
A funeral mass was held, Wed.
March 21, in St. Pius Catholic Church with burial
in South Park Cemetery, Pearland, TX.

Rose Marie Niswander Alley,
84, of S. Countyline St., Fostoria, died at
8:15 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2001, at St. Vincent's
Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in
Coldwater, Mich., to Fred and Edith (Moon) Shuman.
On April 7, 1933, in Fostoria, she married Cloyd
Niswander. He died Nov. 25, 1965. On Aug. 9,
1969, in Fostoria, she married Ralph "Peck"
Alley, and he survives.
Other survivors include: three
sons, Irvan "Bud", Doug and Jerry Niswander,
all of Fostoria; a step-son, Gerald Alley of
Ontario, Canada; a brother, Fred Shuman, of
Crossville, Tenn., three sisters, Freda Brooks
and Thelma Stiger, both of Fostoria, and Arlene
Cooper of Bascom; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are: a son, Michael
Niswander; a step-son, Michael Alley; two brothers,
Richard and Walter Shuman; a sister, Doris Seel,
and one grandchild.
Mrs. Alley, a homemaker, retired
in 1976 from Bendix, and was a member of the
Fostoria Baptist Church in Fostoria.

11 a.m., Thursday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral
Home in Fostoria, with the Rev. David Chapman
officiating. Burial will be in the Fountain
Cemetery.

Alden Baker, 74, of 126 N. Monroe
St., Tiffin, died at 6:35 a.m., Wednesday, April
25, 2001, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center
of Toledo.
He was born on March 1, 1927,
in Republic, to Joseph M. and Mary (Hansberger)
Baker. On Dec. 4, 1946, in Dunkirk, he married
Blanche Lloyd, and she survives.
Survivors also include: two
sons, Herbert Baker of Honolulu, Hawaii, and
Rick Baker of Tiffin; four daughters, Mrs. Stacy
(Susan) Feller, Mrs. Nicholas (Kathy) Elchert,
and Mrs. Rick (Patty) Kauffman, all of Tiffin,
and Mrs. Steve (Tracy) Haughawout of Bloomdale;
a brother, Harold Baker of Tiffin; a sister,
Mrs. Vern (Gloria) Kinn of Fostoria; and 11
grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Stanley
and Burdette Baker.
Mr. Baker, owned and operated
Alden Baker Trucking for over 50 years. He had
also worked for Huber Trucking in Tiffin and
Craun Trucking in Bettsville. He was a life
member of the American Legion Post 169 in Tiffin.
He served in the U.S. Navy during
WWII on the U.S.S. Puget Sound, and was awarded
the Victory Ribbon for WWII, the American Area
Ribbon, and he Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
Services will take place, 10
a.m. Saturday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating.
Entombment will be in the Seneca
Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Tiffin, with Military
Rites performed by the United Veterans Council.

She was born July 12, 1956 in
Fostoria to Ralph and Stella P. (Davis) Hook,
and her mother survives in Fostoria. She married
James K. Andrezejewski Jr. July 17, 1989 in
Fostoria, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael
M. Chevalier, Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Michael
(Tenaya K.) Hayes, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; two
grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Davis,
and Rick and Donald Hook, all of Fostoria; and
two sisters, Peggy Pierce and Kathy Hook, both
of Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by
a son, Jason E. Chevalier; and a sister, Janet
Mitchell.
Mrs. Andrezejewski was a homemaker.
She graduated from Fostoria
High School in 1974.
She attended Faith Tabernacle

in Bellevue Hospital.
She was born in Bloomdale on
Feb. 5, 1931, to Roscoe and Florence (Brandeberry)
Drew, and both are deceased. On May 12, 1949,
in Charleston, S.D., she married Eugene K. Burns.
He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1987.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Linda Burns and Nancy Juliano, both of Bellevue;
five sisters, Mrs. Warren (Della) Overly of
Fostoria, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Baker, Barbara
Schubert, LaDonna Burns and Joan Simpkins, all
of Tiffin; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Deceased include: four brothers,
Earl, Charles, Edward, and Alton Drew; and an
infant sister, Nancy Drew.
Mrs. Burns, a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church, was employed at Tiffin
Bake Shop for 12-1/2 years. She was a member
of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 2858, Eagles Auxiliary
402, and Tiffin Moose 846. She was an avid bingo
player and loved fishing.

a.m.,Wednesday, with a 10:45 a.m. Rosary, at
St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Keith
Stripe as the officiant. Burial will be in the

Brendle. He married Eunice C. Adams on Feb.
13, 1938 at St. John's United Church of Christ,
Tiffin, and she died Jan. 23, 2001.

and J. Frederick and Charles A., both of New
Riegel; two daughters, Mrs. David (Beverly A.)
Dundore, Tiffin; and Mrs. Vaughn (Mary M.) Moore,
Fostoria; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren;
a brother, Willard of Tiffin; and a sister,
Luella Gorby, Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by
a brother, Gilbert; and a sister Mildred Brendle.
Mr. Brendle was a Seneca County
farmer.
He was a member of St. John's
United Church of Christ, Fostoria, where he
was a trustee and a member of the Consistory.
He was a member of Bascom Elevator, Farm Bureau,
and Hopewell-Loudon School Board for more than
18 years.
In May of 2001 Mr. Brendle was
inducted into the Hopewell-Loudon Hall of Fame
for his service to the school system.

Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bascom.

He was born March 27, 1927 in
Fostoria to Joseph Emil and Elnora (Goshe) Bodart.
He married Nannette Kathleen "Nan" Simonis on
Feb. 4, 1950 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic
Church, Carey, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters,
Jeana Kathleen Bodart SFCC, Fort Wayne, Ind.;
and Mrs. Randy (Susan M.) Arnold, Jefferson
City, Mo.; five sons, Stephen M. and Robert
A., both of Fostoria; Ronald W. of Fredericktown;
David J. of Apex, N.C.; and Gerald P. of Naples,
Fla.; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold
(Ann) Yost, Carey; and two brothers, James and
Carl, both of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by
a daughter, Jeanne Marie Bodart; and a brother,
William.
Mr. Bodart retired in 1988
as a millwright from Autolite, Fostoria, after
44 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II.
He was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church and a third degree honorary
member of K of C Council 1197, both of Fostoria.
He was a 1945 graduate of St.
Wendelin High School.

Sr. They are deceased. He married Doris M. Meyers
Dec. 31, 1969, in Fostoria. They were divorced.
Survivors include: a daughter,
Victoria Bethel of Springfield; two sisters,

death of Pamela Marie Wickiser Bayliff who died
on June 14, 2001 in South Carolina.
She was born in Fostoria to
Robert W. and Jackie Degan Wickiser, now of
Greenville, S. C. She married David W. Bayliff
and he survives at home.
She is also survived by four
sons, Matthew Aaron, at home; twins Bryan Joseph
and David Allen Stone, both of Clemson, S.C.;
and David Read (Paula) Bayliff, Laurens, S.C.;
two daughters, Patricia June (Dwayne) Moore,
Greenville, S.C.; and Brenda Kaye (Pete) Walker,
Mauldin, S.C.; a sister, Adele (Michael) Medlin,
Greenville, S.C.; two brothers, Bobby (Diane)
Wickiser and Brook (Michelle) Wickiser, both
of Greenville, S.C.; an aunt, Anne Degan Holden
and her three daughters; four nieces, and three
nephews.
She is the granddaughter of
longtime Fostoria residents, Roma and Howard
Degan.
Mrs. Bayliff was a floral designer,
having worked at her mother's shop (Jacque's
Flower Basket) for 14 years, and later with
Touch of Class Florists, both in Greenville,
N.C. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist
Church.

Wilhelm. They are deceased. She married Franklin
Snyder in 1943. He died in World War II in 1944.
She then married Robert H. Appell on June 18,
1949, in Fostoria and he survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two
sons, David C. of Fostoria and Michael R. of
Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. Brad (Margaret)
Kammeyer, Mrs. Ron (Gail) Reinhard, and Ruth
A. Appell, all of Fostoria; a sister, Marjorie
J. Maurer of Fostoria; five grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and
three step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Appell worked for Kiddy
Club Child Care in Fostoria. She was a 1942
graduate of Fostoria High School and a member
of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria. She was
a Brownie leader, Sunday school teacher, den
mother, PTA leader and assisted with Campfire
Girls.
The Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga

He married Alma C. Frankart in Fostoria Oct.
26, 1939 and she survives in Fostoria.

Mr. Baker was born in Bettsville
to Forrest L. and Gladys (Feasel) Baker. He
married Carolyn J. Frankart June 2, 1951, in
St. Wendelin Catholic Church and she survives
in Fostoria.

sons, John and Charles of Findlay, Robert, Michael,
Mark, Brian and Thomas, all of Fostoria; two
daughters, Mrs. Bo (Jeanne) Risner of Findlay

brother, Forrest Donald of Burgoon; and a sister,
Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Butzier of Kansas.
A 1947 graduate of Jackson Liberty
High School, he was a U.S. Navy veteran; and
retired in 1989 as a trucker driver after 38
years with BOC Airco, Sentle and Craun Transportation.

American Legion Post 71 and Fostoria United
Sportsmen.

Mr. Adkins served in the U.S.
Navy. He was a past employee of Tecumseh Products,
Marion, and retired from the New Ezy-Gro Co.,
Carey. He was of the Protestant faith and was
a life member of AMVETS 777, a member of the
Moose Lodge 1093, a past member of the American
Legion 225 of Upper Sandusky, and a past member
of the Dads of Foreign Wars of Upper Sandusky.
Graveside service will be at
noon Tuesday in the Oma Chapel of the Tucker
Cemetery, Grimms Landing, W.Va.
Visitation is 1-3 and 5-7 p.m.

Jacquelin "Jackie" Boulboulle,
71, of Glenwood Ave., died at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday,
August 28, 2001, in St. Vincent/Mercy Medical
Center in Toledo.
She was born Oct. 12, 1929,
in Fostoria to Myron L. and Velma I. (Traucht)
Snyder. Both are deceased. She married James
E. Boulboulle July 17, 1949 in Fostoria and
he survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include a son,
David Lee Boulboulle of Slidell, La., two daughters,
Mrs. John (Lindsay Diane) Gilliland, and Mrs.
Scott (Lori Ellen) Bulkowski, both of Fostoria;
a sister, Mrs. Joretta Niswender of Columbus;
four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,
and one step-grandson.
A grandson is also deceased.
Mrs. Boulboulle graduated in
1947 from Fostoria High School. She was a member
of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria.
Services will take place at
10:30 a.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home
in Fostoria. The Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga will
be the officiant. Interment will be in Knollcrest
Gardens in Arcadia.

Graveside services for Robert
E. "Bob" Bates, 78, of Raleigh, N.C., and formerly
of Fostoria, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday
at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
Visitation will be held following
services at the home of Jim Carter, 525 Summit
St., Fostoria.
Mr. Bates died Saturday, Aug.
11, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 10, 1922, in
Carey to William and Tessie (Walters) Bates.
He married Helen Burrell, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter,
Betsy Bates, Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Jim of Raleigh,
N.C.; and a sister, Frances Bates Cunningham,
Grand Rapids, Mich.
He was preceded in death by
a sister, Wilda Bates Carter; and two brothers,
Donald and Mac.
Mr. Bates retired in 1985 from
ESB-Exide after 35 years; and retired in 1993
from Magna Volt, which he helped form.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran
of WWII, serving with the Raiders Special Forces
unit in the South Pacific.
He received two Purple Hearts.
He earned a bachelor's degree
in chemistry in 1949 from Bowling Green State
University.

MARGARET R.
Margaret R. Bolin, 98, a resident
of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria, died
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, in Fostoria.
She was born Aug. 30, 1903,
in Perry County to Thomas and Lauinia (Hickman)
Duffy. She married McClelland Bolin, and he
preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Pauline
"Pat" Redmond, Columbus; a son, James "Red"
of Arcadia; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
two sons, McClelland Jr. and John D.
Mrs. Bolin was a retired employee
of the State of Ohio.
She was a member of St. Aloysius
Catholic Church, Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus.
Visitation will be held from

ROBERT R.
Robert R. Boas, 81, of Berkshire
Drive in Fostoria, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday,
Sept. 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1919 in
Paulding to Fred and Louise (Jordan) Boas. They
are deceased. He married Jeanette Hummel on
June 7, 1941, in Tiffin, and she survives in
Fostoria.
Survivors also include a son,
Thomas Boas of Brawley, Calif., a daughter,
Mrs. Ronald (Sandra) Crosser of McComb; a brother,
Walter Boas of Fostoria; 11 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased include: a brother,
Fred Boas Jr., and a sister, Edna Louise Bauman.
Mr. Boas had worked for Hummel
Motor Sales in Fostoria. He retired in 1983
from Fostoria Industries. He was a World War
II Army veteran; a member of the High Street
United Methodist Church in Fostoria, and a 1938
graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School. He
also was a member of Fostoria Lodge 288 F&AM,
Fostoria Chapter 94 Order of the Eastern Star.
The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will
officiate services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at
the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the

M.
Garnita M. Babb, 79 of Fostoria,
died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001,
in St. Francis Home in Tiffin. S
he was born March 18, 1922 in
Bellevue to the late Frank and Rose (Hosman)
Roth. She married Sherman "Pete" Babb on June
29, 1945 in Texas. He died June 18, 1986.
Survivors include: two sons,
Billy Babb of Monterey, Tenn., and Cody Roth
of Fostoria; a daughter, Brenda Miller of Dayton;
two brothers, Donald and Bernard Roth, both
of Fostoria; a sister, Sally VanBuskirk of Bascom,
four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Barbara Yambert,
is deceased.
Mrs. Babb retired in 1987 from
Allied Automotive and had formerly worked at
the J. C. Penney Co. in Fostoria. She was a
member of the Fostoria VFW Auxiliary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday
at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
The Rev. Jim Michaels will be the officiant.
Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens near Arcadia.

KENNETH J.
Kenneth Ault, 91, of Wayne,
died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17, 2001, at St. Catherine's
Care Center in Fostoria.
He was born Jan. 12, 1910, in
Bradner to the late William and Della (Sanderson)
Ault. He married Thelma E. Rothenbuhler on Feb.
27, 1932, in Paulding, Ohio and she died on
Feb. 4, 1973. He later married Grace E. Fite
in October of 1983, in Findlay and she died
in June of 1997.
Survivors include: a son, Kenneth
Eugene Ault of Wayne; four daughters, Lois Lippert
of Wayne, Irene Althaus of Tiffin, Sharon Fisher
of Orlando, Fla., and Bonnie Sue Everding of
Fostoria; two stepsons, Lloyd and John Fite
of Bowling Green; two stepdaughters, Carlene
McCurdy of Portage and Jean Ladd of Bowling
Green; a brother, William "Bud" Ault of Lexington,
Ohio; a sister, Pauline White of Columbus; 14
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren;
and 27 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death also
include: four brothers, Harry Ault, and John,
Charles, and Guy Ault who died in childhood;
and two sisters, Hope Cottrell and Leota Musser.
Mr. Ault retired from Ottawa
Rubber in Bradner, Ohio as a Mill Operator after
20 years.
Services will take place at
1 p.m. Friday at Barndt Funeral Home, 121 W.
South Street in Wayne. The Reverend Thomas McCurdy
will be the officiant. Burial will be in Bradner
Cemetery.

JEAN F.
Mr. Jean F. Beeson, 72, of Fostoria,
died at 8:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at
his residence.
He was born in Bloomdale to
Dellis L. and Florence (Pelton) Beeson, and
both are deceased. He married Emma Walters on
July 10, 1954 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church
in Fostoria, and she survives.
Survivors also include: five
daughters, Mrs. Richard (Diane) Warriner of
Bremerton, Washington, Mrs. Michael (Jeannette)
Lee of Fostoria, Mrs. Tony (Sandy) McKinnon
of Maumee, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Wagner of Fostoria,
and Mrs. Steve (Laurie) Kinn of Findlay, 12
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two
brothers, Jack Beeson of Florida and Jim Beeson
of Fostoria, and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Mary
Ann) Ritzler-Lowmaster of Fostoria.
Mr. Beeson retired in 1988 from
Atlas, Inc. as a finish grinder. He was a member
of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria;
a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus
Council 1197 in Fostoria, and a 1947 graduate
of Fostoria High School. He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of the Korean War.
Services will take place at
10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hoening Funeral Home
in Fostoria. Military graveside services, conducted
by the United Veterans of Fostoria, will take
place in Knollcrest Gardens.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.

Robert Frederick Breece, 76,
of Leipsic, died at 12:03 a.m. Friday, Sept.
21, 2001, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
He was born July 22, 1925, in
Deshler to Frederick C. and Emilie L. (Moehrmann)
Breece. He married Mazie L. Kuhnash on Dec.
14, 1946, and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters,
Mrs. Louis (Linda) Nienberg and Virginia Schneeg,
both of Ottawa; Mrs. Terry (Bonnie) Phillips,
Benton Ridge; and Mrs. Lonnie (Julia) Ley, Findlay;
a son, Thomas of Leipsic; six grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Melvin
and Donald, both of Hamler; Frederick Jr. of
Holgate; Ronald of Malinta; and Larry of Tennessee;
and three sisters, Louise Kern and Loretta Long,
both of Findlay; and Jeanette Behrman, Malinta.
He was preceded in death by
a son, Edward; two brothers, Ernest and Harold;
and a sister, Martha Parker.
Mr. Breece retired from Whirlpool,
Findlay.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of First Lutheran
Church, American Legion, DAV, VFW and Eagles,
all in Leipsic; and Findlay AMVETS.
Funeral services will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Revs.
George Zornow and Ken Pollitz officiating. Burial
will be in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic, with
military rites by Leipsic VFW, American Legion
and AMVETS.

2-9 p.m. Sunday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic,
and an hour before services Monday at the church.

Nettie V. Banks, 78, of 461
W. Lytle St., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at
her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1922 in
Fostoria, to Eber J. and Nettie S. (Emerine)
Shook. Both are deceased. She married Robert
N. Banks on June 24, 1944 in Tiffin. He died
Jan. 29, 1999.
Survivors include seven sons,

Banks of Fostoria, Daniel D. Banks of Tiffin,
John N. Banks of Lima, William F. Banks of Bloomdale,
Kevin M. Banks of Fostoria and James Spangler

Grine of Fostoria, Mrs. Stefen (Mary) Partlow
of Bowling Green, Mrs. Jerry (Rita) Edinger
of Tiffin, Mrs. Jerry (Cindy) Hopson of Findlay,
Roberta Distel of Newark and Sharon Breington
of Florida; a brother, Joseph Shook of Tiffin,
a sister, Leota Mears of Fostoria, 44 grandchildren
and 40 great-grandchildren.
Deceased include: two sons,
George Spangler and Bevin Banks; three brothers,
Ralph, Eber G., and Charles Shook; and four
sisters, Helen Weimerskirch-Finsel, Thelma Shook,

Norman R. Bolen, 88, of Fostoria,
died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at
Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 15, 1913, in
Helena, to the late Ralph H. and Estella (Houtz)
Bolen. He married Mary Doris Roberts on Nov.
7, 1937, in Fostoria and she survives.
Survivors also include: a son,
Gerhard N. Bolen of Nashville, Tenn., a daughter,
Mrs. Russell (Cathie) Rhoades of Marion; a sister,
Mrs. Dorothy Whitman of Fostoria; four grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by

Edmund A. Brickner, 79, of 752
Eastern Ave., Fostoria, died at 2:15 a.m. Nov.
10, 2001, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health
Center in Findlay.
He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in
Seneca County, Ohio to the late William and
Elizabeth (Hartman) Brickner. He married Annabelle
Berrier of Sept. 7, 1946, at St. Andrew's Catholic
Church in Liberty Township and she died Dec.
27, 1998.
Survivors include: three sons,
Ronald Brickner of Walbridge, and Brian and
Chris Brickner of Fostoria; a daughter, Denise
Woosley of Fostoria; five grandchildren; two
step-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren;
and four sisters, Vonetta Kelbley of Fostoria,
Pauline Burns of Tiffin, Bernice Droll of Fostoria,
and Virginia Kahman of Michigan,
He is also preceded in death
by a grandson, Brad Brickner.
Mr. Brickner retired in 1982
as a "Car Inspector" for C&O Railroad after
32 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church in Fostoria; a Life Member of
VFW Post 73, Fostoria; a Life Member of Fostoria
United Sportsman Club; a member of American
Legion Post 73, Fostoria; and a Third Degree
Knight of Columbus of Council 1197 in Fostoria.
He attended Jackson-Liberty
School and St. Andrew's School in Liberty Township.
He was a World War II Army veteran having served
in the European Theater where he received a
Purple Heart medal and three Bronze Stars.
The Rosary will be prayed at
10 a.m. Tuesday followed by a mass of Christian
burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Wendelin Catholic
Church in Fostoria. Military graveside honors
conducted by the United Veteran's of Fostoria
will be at the St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

June 1, 1913 to Clarence and Amelia (Martel)
Reinhard. On April 10, 1948 she married Harry
F. Barth in St. John's United Church of Christ
in Fostoria. He died May 8, 1987.
Surviving include: two sons,
Jesse E. and Howard F. Barth, both of Upper
Sandusky; a brother, Harold Reinhard of Fostoria;
three sisters, Martha Phillips of Fostoria,
Joyce Knight of Fremont and Roma Sauber of Tiffin;
six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

E. Barth.
