"The Pianist" rated

The story based on Wladysalw Szpilman's memoirs of being a
lone survivor of his family in Nazi occupied Warsaw. Szpilman
(Adrien Brody) is promising composer, pianist, and radio host
in Warsaw when the war breaks out there. He is Jewish, so
when germany invades, he and his family are sent to the ghetto.
The struggle to stay alive, trying to make ends meet by selling
books and playing the piano in a small cafe. His family is
deported to Nazie concentration camps, and Szpilman escapes
and goes into hiding. He survives with the aid of his secret
german officer(Thomas Kretschmann), and ends up searching
for him after the war. A wonderful movie. Also stars Frank
Finlay, Maureen Lipman, Emilia Fox, and Ed Stoppard. Produced
and Directed by Roman Polanski.

"The Recruit" rated

This is a thriller that gives a insider view to the CIA secret
training ground. James Clayton (Colin Farrell is recruited
by Walter Burke (Al Pacino) to take the training course. Clayton
is a computer wiz and top graduate in his high school class.
James falls for another class member (Bridget Moynahan) who
they suspect is a mole. The end is a surprise, lots of mystery
and excitement in this movie. Also stars Gabriel Macht and
Dom Fiore.

Colonel who is dealing arms, he encounters more than he bargained
for. He is captured and held by the North Koreans for more
than a year. When he is released, his superiors fear he has

to clear his name, Bond goes after Zao (Rick Yune), the man
for whom he was released. His pursuit takes him to Cuby, back
to London, and finally to Iceland. He meets a mysterious American
Jinx (Halle Berry) andGustav Graves (Toby Stephens) . He finds
his assistant (Rosamund Pike) is also connected to Zao. Lots
of action, not a bad story line. Also stars Judi Dench, MIchael
Madsen, and John Cleese. Directed by Lee Tamahori

famous poet, her friend and former lover(Ed Harris) who is
dying of AIDS. The stories finally come together in a shocking
ending as the women discover they have something in common.

"Adaptation" rated

Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage) is a screenwriter
hired to transform the boodk "The Orchid Thief", whichs is
the story of John Laroche (Chris Cooper), a plant dealer who
clones rare orchids then sells them. Cage also plays Charlies'
twin brother, Donald, who fancies himself a screenwriter and
lover and can't seem to agree with anything Charlie does.
Charles storyline parallels the tale of Susan Orlean (Meryl
Streep), the author of The Orchid Thief" and her attraction
between Charlie and Susan. Charlie finds difficulty in adapting,
he is afraid of losing the heart of the book and his shyness
is hard to overcome. A little hard to follow, not for everyone.
also stars Tilda Swinton and Ron Livingston. Written by Charlie
and Donald Kaufman, and directed by Spike Jonze.

"The 25th Hour" rated

The young man, Montgomery "Monty" Brogan (Edward
Norton) is convicted of drugs and is spending his last day
of freedom before he begins serving a seven-year jail sentence.
He prowls through the streets with his best friends (Phillip
Sewmour Hoffman and Barry Pepper) and his girlfriend (Rosario
Dawson) and forced to re-examine his life. Ending is confusing
as you don't know exactly what really happened to him. Also
stars Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, and Tony Siragusa. Based on
Davids Benioff's book and screenplay also written by him,
produced ;by Spike Lee, Jon Kilil, Tobey Maguire, and Julia
Chasman and Directed by Spike Lee.
